"Mettaton! Are you ready to go?" Papyrus asked, fixing his tie and jacket, while he waited near the front door for his lover.

"Almost, darling! I'm just fixing my eyeliner!" Mettaton called out from the bedroom.

Papyrus didn't have to wait long, Mettaton was done quickly as he had put eyeliner on millions of times before.

The skeleton opened the door for his husband, and the two made their way down the street, Mettaton's arm linked with Papyrus'

"It's nice to go out like this again, I'm sorry that I've been so busy with the movie, Papy," Mettaton said apologetically, to which the skeleton just chuckled.

"It's quite alright, Mettaton, I understand," he replied, kissing the top of the robots head.

They eventually arrived at their destination, the cafe that was close to their house. Papyrus had offered to pay for their coffee and Mettaton got to pick both of theirs, since Papyrus was indecisive and couldn't decide what he wanted. This ended with both of them walking out the door with Mocha Frappuccino's in their hands.

Though their peace and tranquility was soon interrupted by shouting and camera clicking. Papyrus was confused about all the flashing lights, he didn't know what this was or what was happening.

"Mettaton, what's going on?" Papyrus asked.

"Paparazzi, don't worry. I'll just answer a few questions while we wait for Johnathan to get here, could you text him for me please and tell him what's happening? He'll help us out," Mettaton said, handing his phone to the skeleton.

"Mettaton! Who is that? Why are you with him?" One of the reporters asked.

"He's my husband," Mettaton replied, grabbing his phone from Papyrus when the skeleton was done typing. "Now if you'll excuse us, we need to be on our way." Though his efforts to get them out of there were thwarted by the unmoving crowd.

They were trapped for about fifteen minutes before Johnathan arrived with assistance, leading the couple out of the crowd and into the car.

"I've told you countless times, Mettaton, you need to be observant when out in public. They have pictures and a quote from you now," Johnathan said as he drove away.

"Well excuse me for wanting to go on a date with my husband. For the record, I didn't know they'd be here," Mettaton responded, crossing his legs and arms.

He looked over at Papyrus, who seemed distressed or bothered by something, but he couldn't figure out what. For now, it would be best to wait until they got home, and in the meantime, he could at least hold his hand.

It didn't take long for them to arrive home, and the two walked inside before Papyrus released his hand and turned away from Mettaton.

"Aw, Papy, it'll be okay. We were thinking about moving into a smaller place anyway," Mettaton said, placing a hand on Papyrus' shoulder only to have him pull away. "Darling? What's the matter?"

"This is going to ruin everything for you! Now everyone knows about us and your fans will probably be so upset!" Papyrus said, tears pouring down his cheekbones when he turned to look at his husband. "I ruined everything you worked so hard for."

Mettaton was shocked, having never seen this side of Papyrus. He placed a hand on the skeletons cheek and wiped the tears away. "You didn't ruin anything, darling. Paparazzi are normal, and they suck, it's what they do. Trust me, dear, you did nothing wrong."

"B-but how are people going to react?! They'll probably tell you that you're too good for me and then you'll...you'll leave..."

Mettaton sighed and gave a soft smile, "I promise you, Papy, I won't ever leave you. Here, let's go sit on the couch and talk, kay?" He moved the two of them over to the couch and allowed Papyrus to hug him and get comfortable on his lap. Mettaton rubbed his back soothingly and kissed his head. "Nothing is going to change between us because of this, I promise."

"B-but I've seen how celebrities relationships change because of publicity. I don't want to be the reason for that change," Papyrus said, crying into his husband's shoulder.

Mettaton gently leaned his head against Papyrus', "you have nothing to worry about, darling, I promise. You're my world and I would never leave you. I'd rather burn my popularity to the ground before I leave you."

Papyrus just nodded, allowing Mettaton to just rub his back to soothe him. And they stayed like that for a while, at least until Papyrus stopped crying.

He sat up and wiped the tears from his eyes, "I'm sorry, Mettaton, I didn't mean to cry about something so trivial."

"No need to apologize, dear, I understand. Now, how about we get some food and watch a movie? We can have a home date."

"Oh! Can we look at houses close to my brother? I didn't think about that area the last time we looked!"

Mettaton chuckled and kissed his husband's head, "of course, darling."
