It was late at night and Kris had just gotten back from CastleTown. Toriel was most likely asleep, so they made sure they were extra quiet. Due to their skills of sneaking out, Toriel most likely still thinks that they are asleep.

Quietly, they snuck back into their room and waited for a moment. Silence, perfect. They reached their hand into their chest and ripped their soul out, watching it squirm in their grasp.

"Stop moving, will you?!" They whisper-yelled at the little heart, causing it to freeze. "I have a new plan, a better one. And you, my dear friend, play a very important role." But before they could relay the plan, they heard their mother's bedroom door opening. "Shit."

Kris looked around for whatever they could to hide the soul, quickly shoving it into their side table drawer and hopping into bed just in time for Toriel to open the door and look inside. She stood there for a moment before leaving, causing Kris to immediately grab the soul once again before it could escape.

"Too dangerous to talk now, I guess I'll just have to put you in your cage until morning."

The next morning, Kris decided to leave their soul in the cage for a little while longer. They weren't ready to put it back just yet.

They walked down the stairs, acting as if nothing ever happened. They greeted Toriel, had breakfast, and told her that they were going to work on something upstairs in their room for a little while. This guaranteed that they would be alone for a good while, at least long enough to relay their plan to the soul.

They went back up to their room, chuckling when they saw the little soul in the cage shaking in fear. They bent down so they could look at it better, not saying a word for a little while.

"I can't talk to you when you're like this, you'll be too focused on being scared than listening to me. I'll give you a little bit to calm yourself," they said, getting back up and walking over to their desk. In the meantime, they could always work on writing and sketching out the ideas for their plan to make sure its foolproof.

After a while, however, Toriel called to them from downstairs. "Kris, Susie is here."

Kris immediately jumped from their chair. "Damnit!" They whispered, rushing over and ripping the soul from the cage. They had to hide it, or else who knows how Susie would react to seeing it. The drawer again? No, Susie likes looking in there for any candy Kris might have. Under the bed? No, Susie looks under there often for a game if she decides to stay. Under Asriel's bed? Perfect!

They ran over and pulled a metal box out from under their brother's bed, shoving the soul inside and closing the lid while also making sure something heavy was on top of it so the soul couldn't get out.

So Susie would get suspicious, Kris just decided to lay on the floor and stare up at the ceiling in just enough time for her to basically bust the door down.

"Hey Kris! Laying on the floor and feeling like garbage again?" Susie asked.

"Yup," Kris replied nonchalantly, "anyway, what are you doing here? Weren't you just at Noelle's?"

"Yeah, but we're gonna head to CastleTown to hang out with Ralsei and beat up Rouxls. Now c'mon!" she said, about to pull Kris up from the floor and out the door. Luckily their reflexes were sharp and they avoided her grasp.

"I'll be out in a minute, there's something I need to do first."

"Ugh fine! But if you're not out in like five minutes I'll kick your ass!" And with that, she left the room.

Instantly, Kris went under the bed and pulled out the soul. "Gotta do this quick, don't fight me this time." They said threateningly, pushing the soul back into their chest.

It was pure agony, but they managed to not let out a scream. After a few minutes, they were fine again and made their way out to where Susie was. Perhaps the relaying of the plan would have to wait.

Susie looked at her friend with curious and concerned eyes, "you, okay? I thought I heard you say something in there."

Kris did their best to not be rude, "you're probably just hearing things. This house is kinda old, it was probably a creaky floorboard or something."

Susie didn't fully believe them, and something did seem off about the way Kris was acting, but she shrugged it off and walked out the door after Kris.

Kris knew that they were close to getting caught, and perhaps some...extreme measures would have to be taken. Not right now, however, they had things to do, and that soul wasn't going to get in their way. Not now, not ever. The soul was just a pawn in this never-ending cycle of hell, the plan was almost complete, and it was going to be beautiful.
