The moonlight shined through Fisk and Kris's bedroom window. Asriel's side of the room was dark and vacant as usual, and it would stay that way for at least another month until he was on break and could come back for a visit. The other side was a mix of both dark and light. Frisk was on the top bunk fast asleep, their only source of light being the moonlight. Kris was on the bottom bunk wide awake. His curtain was closed to block off the red glow of his lights from the rest of the room so he wouldn't wake Frisk up, but it seemed that they were failing to keep themself asleep.

They tossed and turned, the image of dust and blood all over them and the sound of screaming monsters filled their head. Kris heard their whimpers and could feel the bunk shake a bit from all of their tossing.

Concerned, he put his phone down and drew back his curtain before crawling up the ladder. He immediately noticed the uncomfortable look on their face and connected it to them having a nightmare. He shook their shoulder to wake them up, but it took a while for it too work. They did eventually wake up, but not without shaky breaths and many tears.

He sat on their bed and waved his hand in front of their face to make sure they could still she him. They gave a nod, and he gently pulled them into a hug. He frowned when he felt their tight grip. Must've been a bad one, he thought. He gently rubbed their back and held them close, but it seemed as though being in the dark wasn't doing them any good. It took a little searching, but he eventually was able to switch on their lights, illuminating their surroundings in a purple glow. It seemed to help a little, but it didn't stop their tears.

There wasn't much Kris could do except hold them. Normally others would try to reassure them, give them words of comfort and tell them that everything was going to be okay, but Kris couldn't do that. It's not like he didn't want to, but there's some things that he just can't do. Still, Frisk didn't need words to feel comforted, and they slowly but surely began to calm down enough to see his signs.

They slowly pulled away from him, making him let go. He slowly put his hands up and began signing.

"Are you okay, now?" He asked.

"Not really, but I will be later," they replied, wiping the tears from their face.

Kris sighed, "want to talk about it?"

Frisk shook their head, "not right now." Kris nodded.

Things were quiet for a moment until Kris got an idea. He told them to wait there, and they watched as he crawled down the ladder and walked out of the room.

Frisk looked at the doorway, curious and confused. Did Kris seriously abandon them while they were upset? He's never done that before. They sighed and wrapped themself up in their blanket, leaning against the wall in an attempt to relax a bit.

Soon enough, Kris came back. Frisk didn't see what he had until several snacks were thrown up onto the bed followed by Kris crawling up and handing Frisk a cup of chocolate milk. He relaxed against the bed, placing his energy drink between his legs so his hands were free.

"If you spill that, I'm not helping you clean it," he signed, causing Frisk to chuckle.

"Don't worry, I won't. I think Mom would kill us if she found out we were up this late with snacks. Especially since you have an energy drink at 2am," Frisk pointed out.

Kris chuckled and cracked open his energy drink, taking a sip of it before setting it to the side and grabbing a bag of chips. He motioned for Frisk to take something as well, to which they did when they set their drink on their little shelf they had on the wall.

Things were quiet for a moment. Frisk didn't know what to say, since they weren't sure if they were ready to talk yet. Kris just sat there and waited for Frisk to make the first move. He didn't want to pressure them into talking if they didn't want to.

By the time they finished their chocolate milk, they were calm enough to talk.

"It was about Player," Frisk started, which made Kris tense up a bit. He turned a little bit to let Frisk know that he was listening. "It wasn't any made up dream, it was more of a memory. It was like I was reliving everything that Player put me through when I was still in Undertale. It was just a lot of dust, blood, and screaming. It just scared me a bit."

Kris nodded. He didn't want to pressure them, but he was also insanely curious about the story behind it. They knew his and yet he didn't know theirs.

"Sorry for asking, but what happened? You don't have to answer if you don't want to," he signed.

Frisk gave a small smile, "it's okay, I suppose it's about time I told you anyway." They sighed and began to explain. "Initially, it was just me that fell into the Underground. I was pacifist, I ended up saving all monsters and set them free. Life was good for a while until I just woke up one day back on the same bed of golden flowers. I was back at the beginning."

Kris pinpointed this to what he felt when Player did their first reset with him, but he didn't mention it and let Frisk continue.

"It was scary and confusing; I didn't know what happened. It didn't take me long after I woke up to realize that I wasn't in control. It was like I was just watching myself on a TV while someone else controlled my actions. At first, they did pacifist like I did. I was relieved and thought that they would leave us alone and happy on the surface again, but soon enough, I woke up on golden flowers again."

Kris frowned a little when they saw the sadness in their siblings' eyes. It was sad to see the toll this took on Frisk.

"After about two more pacifist routes, they changed it up a bit, they got curious. Curious what would happen if they killed some monsters. I imagine they just wanted to see something new. The dust on my hands was an unbearable texture, and the images of those terrified citizens was a nightmare. Eventually it got worse, they did a genocide route. I could do nothing but sit back and watch as they slaughtered my friends and family. Mom, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, Mettaton...everyone. The dust covered my body and Sans's blood stained my face and hands. I just wanted to rip my skin off just to get rid of the gross feeling. It happened over and over again; they were desperate to see something different. It took forever for me to break free from them, and now I'm here."

The tears ran down their cheeks again as they thought about what happened. The feeling of the blood and dust creeped back onto their skin. They hated that feeling, all they wanted was to forget it, to get rid of it.

Kris frowned and placed his hand on top of Frisk's, his way of letting them know that he was here for them. Frisk smiled at him and leaned their head against his shoulder, sighing softly.

It was quiet again for a moment until Frisk decided to ask him a question.

"Kris?" He looked over at them, making his common expression of silently saying what? "Could you sleep up here with me tonight? I don't wanna be alone." Kris smiled and nodded, holding up one of his fingers before crawling down the ladder. He gathered up their extra snacks and hid them with the rest of his secret stash. He then made sure he grabbed his phone off of his bed and turned off his red lights before grabbing his blanket and crawling back up the ladder.

He lied down next to Frisk and got comfortable, putting his phone to the side before looking over and Frisk and opening his arms to them. They smiled and snuggled against his chest, happy for the comfort Kris was providing.

"Thanks, Kris," Frisk said, finally realizing just how tired they were. Kris gave them a gentle squeeze as a way of saying you're welcome

Soon enough, Kris began to feel drowsy as well, feeling his eyelids slowly droop closed as he held his little sibling close to him.
