Bondi Rescue (idk the title yet)

First day back

Pre warning this chapter is incredibly boring and just a filler whilst i come up with a new idea for a dramatic asf chapter ;) as you already know. 🦈

it's been about a week and i've taking it extremely easy. Jake and the other boys have been an absolute godsend. Jakes been round my apartment pretty much every day when he finishes work. he stayed most nights and then when he didn't he was round as soon as he could be. The others popped in when they could. Most of them being the boys who were there when they found me. Although a couple who weren't, have popped in or called me to make sure i was ok..

Today will be the first i leave my apartment. It will be the first day i get dressed. I'm incredibly nervous. It feels like the first day arriving in Australia all over again. And it's my first day back on the job. Let's hope Bondi beach doesn't hit too hard. I was sipping my coffee when my phone started ringing.
"hello?" i said. "Caitlin, it's Hoppo." "oh hi. are you alright Hop?" i asked.
"yeah just phoning to check you're 100% sure to come back today." he asked. I let out a sigh "yeah, i'm sure, i'm a bit nervous. but ready to get back out. feel like i'm going a bit stir crazy held up here." I responded. "ok good see you soon Caitlin." "see ya later Hop." and i hung up. first day back. this should be interesting.

There was a knock at my door. I opened it and it was Whippet. "Hey Whip you alright?" i asked letting him in. "yeah you ready for today?" he asked. i nodded. "you ready to go?" he asked. I looked down at myself still in trackies and hoodie. "umm nah give me 5." i said smiling. "oh right yh." he laughed. "have a coffee or something. i won't be long" he agreed as i went to get dressed. Whippet text me earlier today saying he was going to stop by before his shift as we both started at the same time. Jake started early morning, so me and Whip decided it would be good to go together. I looked in the mirror and bruises on my face were still there but not as prominent. i headed out my room after getting ready.
"it feels so good to be back in this uniform." i announce after we left heading across to the lifeguard tower.
"yeah i bet. good to have you back on the beach." he smiled. i smiled and we walked in a comfortable silence.
after a few hours of getting back into the things. the boys have been super nice and helpful. asking if i needed anything. which is unneeded as i've pretty much healed almost 100%. I was on the beach and down by the flags standing on the back of the buggy. watching the water. i was on patrol with Mouse aka the black cloud. Nothing had happened as of yet but we all know Bondi has its way of ruining someone's luck.

"hey Mouse, you see that young girl out the back?" i asked.
"yeah man she looks way too young." he replied.
"she seems to be pretty panicky."
"yeah may go for a paddle." and with that he stood up and grabbed a board,heading out. *central to flags, there's a boy not to far left of the flags. he's pretty bad, maybe head in for a paddle* i heard.
*yeah copy i'll head in mouse is in for a girl at the mo.* i replied.
*mate go now he's in trouble seriously*
Jesse's voice panicked me. I jumped off the buggy. Running to the left of me where there was another board and ran in. Waves crashed into my board making it difficult to see him. When i located him i could see what Jesse was so worried about. His head was under when i got to him. pulling him i realised he was almost as young as mouse's patient. propping him up on my board i got him in the correct position and we headed up. I saw mouse already had the girl in and was talking to her on the beach. I caught a wave and got in straight away.
"hey you alright?" i asked the young boy. he nodded. "did you swallow any water?" he shook his head as a firm no. "where are you parents dude?" i asked. and he pointed up the beach. we walked up to the two people sat on the sand. "hey do you know your boy almost drowned?" they shook there heads and hugged him. "you have to be more careful watch your child at all times please." i said firmly. they thanked me and i headed back to the buggy where mouse already was. "i blame you for that double rescue." i said. "whattt that's not fair!" he moaned. *the black cloud strikes again.* jesses voice came through. i held my hands out. "see everyone knows man." i said laughing.
"very funny."
the rest of the day went by multiple rescues. and i didn't really see jake much until we both finished. and headed back to his house. and finished the day with him begging to watch the walking dead and me falling asleep.
