*A/n this prompt is based off the fact someone I know just gave birth. And i immediately thought of my "something beautiful bloomed from pain" fic that lead to  my broken wings fic. So this will be a continuation of broken wings. It can also be read alone but I think personally prefer it as a second shot. I just adore lesso being all soft.*

Prompt~ reader goes into labour Lesso is there to support her through the whole process. This is what makes Leonora realise her feelings for reader.

Nights began to grow darker earlier during this period of the year. Normally your favourite time of year. The darker colder nights meaning warm fires and blankets. Halloween fast approaching and then so did Christmas Day. Despite the dark and gloomy nights taking over, this happened to be your favourite time of year. That's why it's unsurprising for you that your 9 month pregnant self is unbelievably excited for the upcoming season. All hallows eve was just over a month away. Normally you'd be snowed under with planning for the ancient tradition.Your favourite excuse to meet up with all your fellow Evers and throw a massive ball in celebration. No this year, you were on bed rest. Mind bumbling boring bed rest. No dancing for you.

The dean of evil made sure you did nothing but rest. After all you were carrying the most pure innocent life form. And after she had found you that fateful day, she swore a silent oath that she'd protect you both. That was the catalyst for your now relationship. For the whole nine months, Lady lesso was with you. Holding you as you sobbed getting the positive test, holding your hair as you threw up, sneaking you late night cravings from the food hall and even reassuring you that what had happened didn't define you. You could love this innocent baby and if you'd let her she would too. Thinking back, pregnancy had been rough to you. The cravings, the mood swings, the swelling of your ankles and let's not even start of the growth of your stomach. Yet it still had been one of the most magical memorable experiences. You remember the day you felt her kick your ribs, the night she kicked Lesso in the face when she was having her nightly talks and even when you decided her name. All of that wouldn't have been possible without your Never lover.

It was only natural that when you felt the gush of liquid between your thighs accompanied by the niggly pains you'd been having that you craved Lesso's presence. All day the sun had been throwing out a blistering heat, your body struggling to stay cool. After all it was entering fall. Shouldn't it be cooler? Maybe it was just because you were desperate to hold your daughter, or maybe it was the sheer extra mass but this heat was awful. Combined with what you thought was Brixton and hicks, you were absolutely miserable.

A sharp pain tore it's way through your stomach causing you to cry out for your Nora. Instantly she was by your side. "Little dove? Are you quite alright? What do you need?" Concern was plastered all over her face as she clutched at your hand. Ready to do whatever you needed. Despite being a Never, seeing you in pain caused a terrible pain in her chest. Not the enjoyable kind.

You whimpered as the pain subsided and that was when your waters broke. Fear clawing it's way through you. For nine months, you'd worried about this day. It was here. You knew you weren't strong enough for this.

"Dove, you're okay. It's okay my love. She just wants to meet her momma. I'm going to go get the nurse I'll be right back. How long dove?" She reassured while getting the information she needed. You knew what she meant. How long apart were they? You'd spoken off this in the months leading to the delivery.

Through ragged breaths you managed to inform her they were about 5 minutes apart but you'd been feeling smaller pains all day. Not even bothering to question why you hadn't informed her the moment any pain occurred, she scampered off like the sly fox she was. The goal to get help and be back before another contraction hit.
