Chapter 6

Four's POV

I wake up and rush to the bathroom, knowing that what Tris said are not just empty words. For the second time I am running late for a leader meeting, I hope it won't be like that fourever (totally did that on purpose ;) ).

I just wear my usual outfit, a t-shirt, dark jeans and some sneakers, everything black of course.

I get to the meeting room in record time just to find it completely empty. I hear a creak and turn around just to find Eric leaning on the doorframe.

-Morning - I say, trying to be polite but failing miserably. I am sure my eyes are sending daggers towards him, but his, they are tearing me limb by limb and setting me on fire.

- What are you doing here? - He asks, with his signature evil smile on. I think about not answering him but I really need to know where are the others, so instead of giving him a straight answer, I answer with another question:

-Where is everybody?-

He crosses his arms over his chest and takes a deep breath, acting like a teacher that has to repeat the same topic for the tenth time.

-Well, Harrison is doing some stuff at the fence, you know, the ones by the amity farm. Max is in his office.

I am tempted to ask about Tris but I can see in Eric's eyes that that is what he is expecting me to do. My pride is too big, I won't give him fhe satisfaction. I start making my way towards the hallway and just as I pass right next to him, he puts a hand on my shoulder.

- And Tris - He says, looking at me to see if his words got a reaction from me. My eyes stay cold, my face emotionless. - She is in Candor.

- Why? - I ask, not being able to contain my curiosity any longer. What is this girl doing to me?.

The dissapointing in Eric's face fades away to be replaced by a smirk.

- She is the dauntless factions ambassador. There was a meeting at 6 am and she was supposed to be there to talk about what are we going to do about Erudite.

- Wasn't I supposed to go with her?

- No, she said the plans changed according to what Max said yesterday. And, she went with three other guys.

I just nod and walk away, never looking back, trying not to think about Eric's last sentence. I make my way to Max office and go in without knocking. He is sitting at his desk reading some papers. He raises his head when he hears the door close.

- Four - He says, his voice tainted with surprised - What brings you here?

- Well - I stop, not knowing what to say - Tris told me I needed to talk to you - I scratch the back of my neck, my nervous tic.

- Oh yeah! - He exclaims, standing up and dragging his chair with him making a screeching noise. He walks until he is in front of me and ties his hands behind his back. - After every meeting you need to come to me and report what happened. Tris did it for you yesterday but it would have been good that you have been there, we decided that we would increase the number of dauntless patrolling the factioneless sector, that's actually what Harrison is doing right now. About initiation you can change it but make sure to come to me. Tris will help you since she has a lot of knowledge of each faction so she will help you make the initiation as fair as possible without changing the final aim: becoming dauntless.

I am left speechless, so I just nod and turn to exit the office when the door bursts open. A dark haired boy I have never seen before is standing there, panting and looking really startled.

- Sir, there was an accident - He says, trying to even his breath but failing miserably.

- Calm down - Max says, noticing the boy's condition - This is dauntless, accidents happen all of the time.

The boy shakes his head.

- What happened? - Max asks.

- The back of a train exploded - He says. Max just raises his eyebrows in surprise. I take it as if this situation is very rare. - There were dauntless in there.

Max exits his office with the boy trailing close behind. I follow them repeating the same thing in my mind over and over:

Please, don't let it be Tris.

Heeeey! I am feeling a lot better but I am so busy with school right now.

Today I got to school and found out I had a homework I didn't do so I skipped first period and went to the library to search it and then the teacher (the one who left the homework) sat behind me!!
Teacher: which subject is this for?

I just started laughing and another teacher behind me started laughing at me. The teacher just shook his head.

Me: hey! at least I did before your class!

he didn't checked the homework :'(

Well sorry for this little rant, enjoy!!
