Don't kill me.

Chapter 25

Four's POV

I wake up to the sound of things being moved. I turn to the side and am greeted by the bright big red numbers of Tris' alarm clock. It shows 5:00 AM. Ughhh I forgort that Tris likes to wake up two hours before work just to get ready because she takes too long "fixing" herself. Ha as if she needed it.

A smile makes its way to my face as I remember last night events. I made love to her all night and it was amazing. I decide to stop thinking about. One because I can't smile like an idiot in front of the initiates and two because Tris is going and I am going to miss her even more if I keep thinking about it.

I gather my clothes and put them on. Once I am ready I head to the bathroom where I know I can find Tris. I am right, she is putting some black thing on her eyes with a pencil or some sort of stick.

- It's called eyeliner - She says once she notice my confused face. I just nod and drag her near me, placing a firm kiss.

- See you.... - I trail off.

- Tomorrow - She completes. I sigh and nod, kissing her again. She pulls away and I walk out, heading to my apartment to change and begin with the fun. Well fun for me anyway.

I grab a muffin from the almost empty dinning hall and walk towards the training room. I set up everything I need: guns and targets, and a first kit aid in case of accidents. When I finish I still have 30 minutes before the initiates arrive. I start thinking about last night and I can help but blush. I hear the door creak and take a gun, pointing it at the person.

- Don't shoot! - She yells, her hands in the air. It's a girl, one of the transfers whose name I forgot. She is almost Tris's height and has light brown hair with brown eyes. Pretty.

- What are you doing here, initiate? - I ask with a harsh tone. Some people, like Amar or Tris, just earn people's respect by being themselves, unfortunately that's not my case, so I have to be scary as hell.

- I...I didn't want t-to be late - She stutters out. I can't help but chuckle. Wow, last night events must have let me really happy or something like that. I put on my Four face again and give her a stiff nod.

- So...- She tries to start conversation but I look at her without interest - Four, right? - She asks, awkwardly holding four fingers in the air. I nod. - What are we doing today? - pfff she is as curious as Tris, must have been Erudite.

- Don't take me wrong - I start - but, what was your name?

She looks taken aback by my question but quickly regains her composure.

- Samara - She says, extending a hand for me to shake. I just stare at it until she lowers it. She opens her mouth to say something but it is cut by the other intiates entering the room. I check my watch and see they are just in time.

- Ok you pansycakes - I glare at Cory, the ex-candor, whose hand is midway from above his head. - Initiation is divided into three stages. The physical, mental and emotional. First, I will break your body, then I will break your minds, and lastly I will break your souls. To be fixed, you first need to be broken. We don't want soldiers, we want brave men, we don't work alone, we are a team! - I yell - and if you can't bear with it, get the hell out of here right now.

No one moves so I take that as my cue to begin.

- Everyone stand in front of a target, grab a gun and start shooting. - I show them the perfect stand, shoot, give my back to them and walk towards the nearest wall. I lean on it and watch as Kayla, a petit amity girl, awkwardly grabs the gun and shoots, hitting a light bulb, making a rain of glass.

I sigh and pass a hand over my face. This is gonna be a long day.

It's now 6:00 PM and I am finally free. Half the intiates managed to hit the target on their first attempts, Samara included. I put everything away and head towards the dinning hall even though I am not hungry. Halfway there I notice Zeke and approach him.

- Hey man! - He greets me whilst clapping my back. - Wanna get a drink?

I ponder about it. Tris doesn't like when I drink but...Tris is not here. I nod and his smile gets wider, if that's even possible.

- Nice! - We head towards the pit and meet up with some of my occasional friends, I don't really talk to them but they are nice nonetheless.

- Four! - Damon, a guy that used to work at he control room but got "promoted" to safety guard, says. - How've you been?

- good - I shrug.

- And your girl? where's she?

- Working - I answer trying not to let them hear the longing in my voice but I fail because they share a look and then burst out laughing. I shake my head but I can't stop the corners of my mouth from lifting.

- Let's get this party started! - Zeke yells whilst holding up many bottles filled with alcohol. I grab one and in one swing empty the content. Everyone cheers and it is official: The party has begun.

Through the night I drink...a lot, I think I have drunk more than 3 bottles of something I forgot the name of, 5 beers and coctels, who would have thought dauntless could be sofisticated?. Many girls have tried to flirt with me and I've let a few but I don't let it get so far. I am drunk, not stupid (isn't that a synonym?). I am in love with Tris but for some reason it recoils to the back of my mind sometimes.

A curvy brunette dances her way towards me and leans on the railing, next to me. The loud noise of the chasm is drowned by the music but I can still hear it.

- Hey Foooour - The girls slurs. I notice she looks familiar...Lauren!.

- Hey Lau...- I start but my tongue won't cooperate. She straightens and goes to walk forward but ends up stumbling with her own feet. Even in this drunken state like I manage to have amazing reflexes and catch her on time. I bring her towards me and her lips crash to the corner of my mouth.

She opens her mouth to say something, but someone pushes her and we are kissing. Our lips move with desperation and I kiss her harder while my hands roam over her body and her hands roughtly pull at my hair. I suddenly regain focus and push Lauren off me. She shakes her head to clear her mind and stares at me in horror, mirroring mine.

- I aam soooo sorrrryyyy - She manages to slur. I just shake my head and run-stumble to my apartment, luckily without breaking any bones. I fumble with my keys but I can't get them through the key hole. I take the door knob and find that it is not locked. I go in and crash into my bed, willing to forget everything that happened today.
