Chapter 18

Four's POV

Tris and I have been going out for a month. We were the dauntless new item, everybody stared at our laced hands when we walked by. Sometimes I sat with Tris and her friends but I couldn't keep my Four face off so people at the table felt uncomfortable. Tris tried to convince me not to be so rude but I just couldn't help it. At the end we decided to sit with our respective friends and sometimes just the two of us or have lunch at her apartment.

Right now I am sitting with Zeke and Shauna watching them suck faces while trying not to throw up at the sight.

I feel a tap on my shoulder and I inmediatly shrug it off, turning around to tell the person to get lost when my gaze connect with those beautiful eyes.

- Hey - I say, a small smile on my face. So small that in fact you wouldn't even know it's there of you didn't know me like Tris does. She answers with a smile of her own and akwardly clears her throat, catching Shauna and Zeke's attention.

Zeke stands up and gives her a big hug while Shauna gives her a small smile, a little forced I think.

- Four - She says, turning towards me once Zeke lets her go. - Why don't you come and sit with me and my friends?

I sigh and pass a hand through my hair while looking around the table. I see Shauna glaring at Tris and Zeke rubbing circles on her back.

- You know what happens, Tris - I say - I am with my fr....

- I know - She quickly interrumpts - I meant all of you. If you all want to come and sit with my friends. I know how you feel but I... I miss you - She says turning towards me, making my insides melt.

I look at my friends and Zeke nods while Shauna is smiling again. What's wrong with that girl?

- Ok - I reply. I stand up, with one hand grabbing my tray while the other holds Tris' hand, who is guiding us towards her table.

We sit down. At first there is an akward silence but it is soon broken by Zeke who is now teasing Uriah about liking Marlene, a nice looking girl sitting next to him. Shauna starts talking to her sister, Lynn (who she looks nothing alike) and the tense air dissapears from the table except from where I am sitting. I don't like being around too much people but for Tris I'll try.

I start playing with a strand of her hair while she whispers something to her best friend, Christen, Christina, I don't know and honestly don't care either. The girl looks at me, giggles and whispers something at Tris that makes her cheeks go redder than a Amity T-shirt.

I let out a sigh catching Tris attention, who turns towards me and asks me a silent question with her eyes: are you ok?

I nod in response but I know she does not believe it. I grab her hand under the table and she squeezes it. I cup her face with my free hand and bring her lips towards mine until they crash. This is not a passionate kiss, just a sweet one that lasts around 5 seconds. And I find myself missing it.

I notice the lack of noise around us and turn around to see that our whole table and some close to us are looking at us with jelousy, happiness, tenderness and wiggling eyebrows, the last one being Zeke, Uriah and a random guy from another table.

- What!? - I snap at them. They cower back looking slighly afraid. Tris puts her hand on my shoulder and I visibly relax.

- Awwww - All the girls and Uriah exclaim. I roll my eyes and kiss Tris once again. I grab her hand and stand up, dragging her with me out of the cafeteria.

- Use protection! - The random guy from before yells. Who the hell is he!?. Tris throws a playful glare at him and follows me.

I manage through the hallways that resembles a maze but not as bad as the ones at the Erudite headquarters, every hallway there looks the same!. We get the place that I call home and stop in front of the door.

- I've never let anyone in except for Max because well, he actually let himself in - I say while unlocking the door and holding it open for Tris to go in.

She steps in with a cautious air and I follow, closing the door behind me.

- Fear God Alone - She says, reading the words on the wall. She looks at me raising her eyebrow but I just shrug in response. She wince and I don't know if it is because she is in pain or because of my vague answer.

We make a little tour around the house even though hers is similar and we stop at my bedroom. I sit on the bed and pat the place next to me, signaling her to sit down. She does, wincing in the process.

- You ok? - I ask, reaching my hand to touch her face. She quickly moves it away.

- Yes - She snaps. What did I do now!?

We usually don't fight, just little arguments now and then that are solved by themselves.

- Sorry - She says, looking at me with sad eyes and giving me a peck on the lips. I try to deepen it but she stops me.

I take off my jacket, throwing it at a nerby chair. Then I crouch down to tie my shoes off and take them off when I hear Tris gasp.

- What? - I ask, putting my shoes under the bed.

- You have a tattoo - She states. I guess it peaked out of my shirt. I just nod and I see her eyes light up like a little child's. - Can I see it?

- Are you asking me to undress? - She smiles and blush.

I doubt for a second and then nod. She jumps a little bit and I have a feeling she is supresing a squeal. I stand up, take a deep breath and in a fast move I take my shirt off.

She looks at me then stands up and goes around me, stopping when she is facing my back. Her soft hand travels all the way down my spine and the way back up, and I can't supres a shiver.

- To be perfect - She whispers - you just need an Abnegation heart - She puts her hand on the abnegation symbol.

"A Dauntless soul -her hand travels lower with every sentence- a Candor companion, an Erudite mind and an Amity attitude.- "

I turn around, startling her by the sudden movement, and take her hands in mine. She just said the words that are written on her wall but combining them with my tattoo.

- Why do you have them all? - She asks, referring to the factions.

- I can't be one thing - I simply say - I don't want to.

She nods, freeing her hands from my grip and laying them on my shoulders. She stands on her tip toes and kisses me. I deepen it, putting my hands on her hips and bringing her closer. Her arms wrap around my neck, pulling me towards her  making me lose ballance so we end up falling on the bed, me on top of her.

She laughs and the movement causes me to tense. It takes all I have to not grab her and take her right there. So instead, I just kiss her but she pulls away, a look of pain on her face.

- You ok? - I ask, getting off her and laying beside her - You've been fighting again?

I am suddenly angry. Tris has changed. She now wears only three piercings on her ear and the one of the nose, she dresses more decently, she did all of that for me, though she still uses a lot of make up, and she told me she stopped fighting.

- No - She says. I circle her in my arms and we lay there, with her head on my chest. I hope she is not lying.
