Chapter 8

Tris' POV

I am on the train back home after the meeting. At least in Candor they did not stare at me like I was something never seen cause my black outfit fitted in with their colors which are white and black.

All the time I was in there, my muscles never once relaxed, ironic, because even though they are the faction that values honesty, I don't trust them, not after what peter, drew and...Al (it hurts to even think of his name) did to me. I'll never forgive them, because of them I have to put up with this reckeless dauntless facade, if not people will show no respect for me, and I can't let that happen.

I am sitting in this wagon completely alone even though I came with three guys. Actually I came with one, the others two were patrolling and they tagged along. I am not sure what are we supposed to get from this meetings. I just go and tell what dauntless is going to do to keep the peace within the factions.

Candor will do some research about what erudite is planning, that's an erudite thing so I don't expect too much from them but with their truth serum a lot of things can be uncover.

The hippies AKA Amity are so peaceful that they are not going to become involved in the process to keep peace uh? now I see why they are not the erudites.

Abnegation won't do anything, not because they don't want to, no, they will let a war start just to keep erudite happy, don't get me wrong, they are good people but their selflesness puts us in danger sometimes. They will have to keep a low profile so erudite don't suspect (that's a hard one, they are the kings of distrust) that the other factions are "plotting" against them.

I stand by the window and watch the city. The architecture consists of ruins and lost dreams, the last one found in the factionless sector. We are getting near when I hear a beeping noise.

- What's that? - I ask to myself. The beeping increases. - Sounds like a bomb.

My eyes are now wide open and I realize that it is indeed a bomb but it's too late, it's always too late.

- BOMB! - I manage to yell before it goes off, and when it does, I am thrown against the back wall, the one that should connect with the other wagon, far from the explotion, but not far enough. I land on my back but then the roof starts falling so I roll but the train suddenly stops, causing me to crash against the floor, my nose piercing incrusting itsefl making me bleed.

The smoke comes from the other side and fills the air, the air I am breathing, filling my lungs with that toxic sustance. I cough and see blood. Even if I wasn't part erudite I still would know that coughing blood it's never good. I touch my side and hiss. Broken rib. Great.

I reach for the device every leader has, in case of an emergency and push the button, sending a message to the dauntless headquarters. I hope they get here soon, not for me, but for the other who received the worst part of the explotion.

- Help!! - I hear someone yell. I make myself into a sitting position, my back agains the wall.

- Hold on! - I say, it comes out as a whisper so I say it again, this time way louder.

- Are you ok? - Someone asks.

- Fine - I say, even though we both know is a lie. I don't bother to ask them if they are ok, I know the answer.

If you know the answer there is no need to ask, teachers should learn that.

I feel a sharp pain at my right side and touch it, when I take my hand off it's covered in blood. I have a piece of glass there, I take it out, muffling a scream but with no succes.

- Six! - Someone, I think John, a boy I literally met today, yells.

- I am fine - I reassure him but my voice comes out laced with pain. My broken ribs plus the bleeding are making it hard to breathe and the smoke is not helping the cause.

-Hang on! - I hear from outside the train- help is on the way!.

The voice is familiar but I can quite place it. What are they waiting for? I don't hear them again. So I make my best attempt to make mysefl into a crawling position but my sides hurts too much. I ignore it and start crawling towards the window, just where the smoke is getting thicker.
I get there and with my remaining stregnth push one leg out, take my face out and start coughing, I try to push the other leg out but my arms falter and next thing I know I am falling towards the ground.

I land with a thud and my ribs scream in pain, but I have had it worse. I start grunting and coughing and open my eyes, which I don't remember closing, just to see those beautiful deep blue eyes.

- Tris - He says in his deep voice.

- Four - I whisper. Then I start coughing again and the pain becomes to much. I shut my eyes tight and feel them carry me, a wave of pain crashing onto me. They put me next to John and my head laying on Four's lap.

- What happened ? - I ask, of course I know what happened, I just want to know how did it happen and who is responsable.

- Train wagon exploded - He simply says.

I chuckle because he did not get my point. I am about to explain what I meant to ask but then a weigh falls over me, burying me in the so yearned darkness.

Maybe I can let mysefl forget for a moment how miserable I am because of him.
