Chapter 31

Four's POV

It's been a day since we arrived to the Haven. We sent some people to spy in the erudites and figure out where are they keeping the leaders. Tris has been avoiding me and I think it has to do with the fact that she saw me talking to Lauren. I guess she found out it was her who I kissed.

- Four, I am bored - Chloe whines. I can't stand this girl, this is the fourth time in 30 minutes she have said it.

- Then go and make some bombs go off - I tell with as much seriousness as I could master. She just shakes her head and snuggles into some dauntless born initiated. How does he put up with her attitude?

- Are you and Tris dating? - Cory asks out of the blue. I hesitate. Are we still together?

- Something like that - I finally answer. Samara and the amity boy smile and share a look. What does that mean?

The doors open and Max stands there. The spies are back. I stand up and so does Harrison. I look around for Tris and find her kneeling next to Eric's sleeping form. I get close enough to hear what she is saying.

- Wake up a$$hat - She says while shaking him. Eric opens his eyes and shows her the middle finger. I am about to go and beat the pulp out of him but Tris does it first. She smacks him hard on his forehead - Meeting. Now.

With that she stands up and walks pass me. I sigh and follow her with Eric right behind me. We quickly get to the meeting room and take a seat.

- So I'll make this quick - Max says - the leaders are locked down the prisioners cells and the room from where they control everyone is just down the hallway from there. The erudites have guns that shoot needles with a serum that will make you go into a simulation so they can control, we must avoid them at all costs - he says in one breath. I am really impressed.

- So what do you suggest? - Eric asks, followed by a loud yawn. Prick.

- Tris...- Max says. Tris sighs and lifts her hands.

- Yeah yeah I have a plan - She sighs while rolling her eyes than putting both hands on the table - so we need three groups. The first group will create a distraction on the east side of the building. The second group will head towards the west, where they held the prisioners and get the leaders out while the third team works on how to stop the simulation.

We all nod and stand up.

- Wait! - Harrison exclaims. His eyes show how tired he is, his hari dirty an pointing everyway, just like mine must be. The wrinkles on down his eyes becomes evident everytime he speaks. - We need group leaders and all.

Tris nods and stares into space, probably thinking about what he just said.

- So - She says after a minute of silence - Eric you were erudite, you are going to guide the second and third group through the hallways and get the leaders out safe.

Eric nods and crosses hir arms over his chest, his piercings shining because of the lightbuld above his head.

- Harrison, we need you with the first group. Max, you will stay here? - She says, asking for his approval, he nods. He, being the oldest of all of us, knows he will help more staying here than going. - Four, once Eric leads you down the prisioners hallway you are going to lead the third group. They will be there to protect you and help you because that place is obviously going to be surrounded by guards.

- What are you going to do? - I ask. She smirks and I can't help but be afraid of her answer.

- I am comming with you, of course - She says with a sigh. I just nod, happy to be able to keep an eye on her.

- Let's get going then - Max stands up but Eric's hand on his chest stops him.

- Not now, tomorrow.

We all agree and leave. I grab Tris' hand and lead her towards a far corner, close to the room where the keep the people who got severily injured while getting to the haven. I sit and pull her down so she is sitting on my lap. I lace my arms around her slim waist and plant butterfly kisses on her neck.

- Tobias - She warns.

- It was an accident. - I start. Tris tenses up in my arms but I don't let go.

- Tobias...

- She was drunk too - I say, defending Lauren. Tris doesn't say anything for 5 minutes and I start to lose hope.

- I know - She mutters. I just hug her tighter and she restes her head on my chest. - But it still hurts.

I don't say anything and we stay in that position. I am aware of Tris' father's murderous glare but I don't care. Tris' breathing slows down into a steady pace and I know she is asleep.

- I know - I whisper into her hair - and I am sorry.
