Marigold's POV

It's been a couple days since we've come back from New York. The short three day trip was a much needed break, but now it was back to reality. Unfortunately, Daisy's been having a hard time being apart from Harry. Since the moment we got back, she never wanted to leave my side. She refused to go to daycare or stay with Meredith. It was weird and opposite of how Daisy usually is. Although she does prefer being by my side, she's very independent and is almost always excited to be with Meredith or go to school.

Daisy woke up in the middle of the night last night and found her way into my bed with me, something she rarely ever does. Like I said, she's independent. The minute I woke up with her snuggled into my side, I knew she still wouldn't be ready to go back to daycare.

So Daisy has just been joining me at the flower shop for the past couple of days. I think it helps her whenever she helps me with the small tasks at work or just being out of the house in general. Everything reminds her of Harry at home.

"Mommy, I color over there." She pointed at the small table closest to the counter. I nodded my head, bending down to give her a kiss before we walked away.

"Okay, baby. I'll be right here, don't move out of that chair okay?" I pointed my finger at her. With a nod, she made her way to the small table with her coloring book and bag of markers and crayons.

"She looks like she's doing better." Mya said with her eyes watching Daisy curiously.

A deep sigh left my mouth. Better? Sure. Great? Far from it.

"I didn't expect her to be like this being away from Harry. She seemed to do okay whenever he was out for Coachella a few weeks ago. I have no idea what changed." I said quietly.

Allie, who was spending her lunch break bothering me and Mya, raised her eyebrow at me.

"Seriously?" She asked, as if I should know why Daisy's so sad about this. "Daisy asked you if Harry could be her dad." Allie reminded me. "She sees Harry as her dad, whether it's been discussed or not. Even though she technically knows Jacob is her dad, she clearly still views Harry as that. That's a different kind of bond." Allie said.

"It would be like if she was away from you for weeks at a time. She's just having a hard time adjusting to him being away. Daisy never really had to have her loved ones leave for long periods at a time."

She's right, I'd never been apart from Daisy for more than a couple days. Allie's around as much as she can be and that's pretty much the only family that Daisy has known.

Now there's Harry. Now there's Jacob. Harry's been around a lot but will be away for the most part in the foreseeable future. Jacob doesn't live in LA so Daisy also only sees him every so often as well. Two people that Daisy cares a lot about.

Harry called every night since we've come back, just before Daisy's usual bed time. He'd ask her about her day and she'd ask about his. Then he'd sing her a song that eventually put her to sleep. Other than the bed time calls, she doesn't get much more contact with him because that's really the most we get. Other than the somewhat regular check ins throughout the day, Harry's been busy and so have we.

This was the new normal.

"Yeah. You're right. There's been a lot of changes in our lives that happened really fast recently. I can't blame her for being a bit more attached than usual." Even I felt the urge to be more attached to Daisy. I'm used to having her all to myself, now I have to share her and I'm still not used to it.

The three of us watched her as she colored on the page in front of her. Her eyebrows were furrowed tight and her tongue poked out the side of her mouth ever so slightly as she filled in the blank space between the lines. A smile spread on my face. She's concentrating. She's copying Harry's concentrating face.
