Marigold's POV

"Look, mommy!" Daisy patted the side of my leg repeatedly as I cooked our lunch. I glanced down at her holding up the succulent Harry had gotten her a few weeks ago. "It grew!!" She grinned up at me, pointing at the leaves.

"It did? Well that means you've been taking really good care of it, huh?" I kneeled over, placing a small kiss on her forehead. Truth be told, I had to tell her everyday that she only needed to give it water once a week. "Why don't you go put it by the window to give it some sunlight?" I nodded my head towards the living room.

"No! I want show Harry!" She shook her head. I glanced over at the clock on the microwave, checking what time it was.

"Baby, Harry might be busy right now.." I sighed. I wish I could say that the days have gotten easier without Harry, but that would be a lie.

It's been two weeks since the New York trip. Jacob left 4 days ago and he was the only thing keeping Daisy distracted by the absence of Harry. Somewhere in those two weeks, Harry stopped answering our nightly Facetime calls. He'd always text back the next morning apologizing profusely that he missed tucking Daisy in for bed. I tried my best not to freak out about it, I tried my best not to overthink it. Harry promised this wouldn't be a repeat of what happened the first time around for us and I fully believed him.

"But, mommy!" She furrowed her eyebrows, a pout jutting out of her face. I dropped the wooden spoon in the pan, turning off the stove and moving the pan off the heat.

"Okay, come on." I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the bar stools. "Sit here, okay?"

Daisy placed the small pot onto the countertop in front of her as I propped my phone up against a candle. I FaceTimed Harry before sitting in the barstool beside Daisy, ready to comfort her in case he doesn't pick up the call.

Much to my surprise, he answers the call. My heart jumped a beat at the sight of his face on the screen. He had the biggest smile on his face. He was walking outside, the sound of wind blowing against his AirPods. I took note of the facial hair that was sitting on his face, loving the look of it.

"Hello," He sang into the phone. "How are my two favorite girls?" He grinned.

"Harry! I show you my plant." Daisy got right to the point, cupping the vase in her hands and raising it up to the camera. Harry let out a gasp as he caught sight of the plant.

"Wow, Baby love! It looks so healthy! You've been taking good care of it, huh?" He grinned, I couldn't help but smile at the fact that had the same reaction. Daisy agreed happily. "Hey, petal."

"Hi." I said shyly, honestly it felt a bit weird between Harry and I. Should I be upset that he's barely talked to us these past two weeks? Am I even allowed to hold anything against him? "What are you up to right now?" I bit my bottom lip softly.

Harry let out a long sigh, "I'm about to have a meeting actually." He mumbled softly. The smile on my face fell slightly. I tried my best not to show it but we hadn't called in forever and the moment we got the chance, it's cut short.

"Oh.. Okay. We'll let you go." I stood from the stool, standing behind Daisy. "Say goodbye to Harry, bunny." I whisper in her ear. She grumbled quietly, not hiding the sadness that she felt as the words left my mouth.

"Bye, Harry.. Miss you." I reached over and ended the call before he could say anything back. Was it a jerk move? Maybe. I'll apologize to him later.

"Why Harry no talk to us?" Daisy looked up at me. The sadness that filled her eyes broke my heart. This is what I was afraid of. She's so attached. She loves Harry so much.
