Marigold's POV

I was deep in stan twitter when my phone was snatched out of my hand. Allie locked it before tossing it on the coffee table.

"Stop torturing yourself." She pointed at me, sitting on the opposite end of the couch. "Nothing good has ever come out of you looking through twitter." Her arms were crossed over her chest as she gave me a knowing look.

It's been 4 days since Daisy's birthday party. It's also been 4 days since the last time I spoke with Harry. I'd said we'd talk when we were both calm but it's been 4 days and I feel like it's only gotten worse.

I'd expected him to call me later that day. He didn't. So I waited for him to call the next day. He didn't so I called him, no answer. The next day I waited for him to call again. Nothing.

Speculations had started to erupt that Harry wasn't at Daisy's birthday party. That fact alone didn't really set off any alarms for people. He's on tour, it isn't unreasonable for him to not be able to fly home for a day.

But Harry's gone out drinking every night since then. Something that he never really does, so publicly at that. Then rumors started to spread that maybe we'd broken up.

All of this was happening and Harry has yet to reach out to us. Each day that passed, I wasn't getting calmer about the situation, I was only getting more upset. Every day that passed without any contact just felt like a slap in the face.

"Everyone thinks we broke up." I frowned.

"You guys haven't talked in 4 days. If you don't talk soon, you will be broken up." She raised an eyebrow at me. "Marigold, you've been miserable." She groaned, pushing off the couch to scoot closer to me.

"How's Daisy been about all of this?" She asked. I shrugged, the frown on my face only growing.

"She asks about him.. mostly before bed since she's so used to him calling to sing her a song and say goodnight. It helps that Jacob's still in town, he keeps her busy."

I picked at my fingernails. The skin surrounding my nails were red and parts were raw from me picking at it so much within the last 4 days. Allie grabbed my hands, pulling them apart and holding them tight in hers.

"She doesn't understand." I shook my head. "I have to lie to her every night. I tell her that Harry's already asleep, or he's on stage and can't talk. I can't tell her that Harry's not calling because we're in this stupid weird fight that we're both too stubborn to address. Daisy is suffering because me and Harry are too stubborn."

I knew that I'd break soon. I couldn't stand not talking to Harry. I couldn't stand not knowing what he was doing. I probably pick up my phone 100 times a day to call him or text him, but I always back out.

At least I'd be able to see the videos of him at his shows. He's had 2 shows since the last time we spoke. He tried his best to put up a front, the fans bought it. But I could see the way his smile didn't quite meet his eyes. I could see deep in thought when he sang certain parts of songs or the way he didn't interact with fans as much as he normally does.

Was I a complete asshole for being somewhat glad that he was feeling the hurt that me and Daisy are feeling?

"You know I'm always on your side, right?"

I nod.

"Both you and Harry are being stupid. He fucked up. But you also kinda hit below the belt with that one comment. It doesn't matter who messed up more. A four year old child, who loves both of you, is involved. Take your heads out of your asses and get this settled before it gets worse." She reached for my phone and slipped it back in my hand.
