S2: Chapter 21 - Divorce

(y/n's pov)

i was awaken to little kisses being placed on my cheek.

with my eyes still closed i smiled slightly.

"good morning beautiful" - joe

"good morning joey" - you

"how are you feeling this morning?" - joe

"good, a little nauseous but that's it" - you

"that's great to hear" - joe rubbed your arm

it was silent till joe spoke again.

"i have to go pick sam up from my parents... do you wanna go? you don't have too" - joe

"i'll go" - you

i felt joe smile against my neck.

"we need to talk before though..." - you

joe leaned up and sat up on the couch.

i did too.

"what did i do baby?" - joe

"it wasn't really you... it was more me. i feel like i hold you back" - you

"from what y/n?" - joe

"i just feel like such a burden, like the thorn in your side that's always there and keeps you from having fun" - you

joe sympathetically held my hand and rubbed the back of it.

"is there something that i do that makes you feel that way?" - joe

"no.." - you

"is that why you were so upset yesterday at the banquet? because i left you for a while to talk to the guys?" - joe

"i mean.. not exactly but when you were sitting with me but looking at them, i could tell how much you wanted to get up and go but you didn't because i was there" - you

"baby that's not true... i haven't ever and will never think of you as a burden. looking back i should've taken you over to the guys with me."
- joe

i didnt reply.

"but baby i just want you to know that i don't think of you like that. I love being with you and i'd be with you 24/7 if i could... and you know i didn't put that ring on your finger for nothin, it means i want you to be mine forever."
- joe grinned

i looked down at my ring on my finger and smiled at joe.

"feel better?" - joe

i shook my head and hugged him.

"i love you" - you

"i love you too baby" - joe

we cuddled on the couch for a little while before we drove to joe's parents house.

when we got there robin and samantha were in the front yard playing.

when joe parked the car in the driveway he immediately opened his door and went running towards samantha.

she stood up giggling as joe took her in his arms and spun her around before attacking her with kisses.

when i got out of the car i slowly made my way over to robin who greeted with me with a hug.

"how are you doing sweetie?" - robin

"great actually" - you

"that's good to hear. is joe being helpful?"
- robin

"oh yes, of course." - you smiled

robin smiled as she nodded and then shifted her eyes to joe.

he was "chasing" samantha as she tried her best to run away from him.
