(y/n's pov)
the morning after our engagement we are going to be hosting a party to tell everyone that wasn't actually at the proposal that we got engaged.
it's also going to be when i tell joe... and everyone else i'm pregnant.
joe and i were setting up for the party currently, we just told everybody it was a super bowl celebration.
"joe!" - you
"what?" - joe yelled from upstairs
he was upstairs changing sam while i was downstairs getting food put out.
"can you come down here for a second? i cant reach something on the top shelf" - you
i could just picture the grin he had in his face right now.
he thought our height difference was adorable, and found it to be one of the reasons why i kept him around.
he came walking down the stairs and into the kitchen.
as he walked up to me he put an arm around my waists while he got what i needed without even getting on his tippy toes.
"thank you baby" - you
"you're welcome" - joe kissed my cheek
i smiled at him before there was a knock at the door.
joe and i looked at each other confused.
"people aren't supposed to be showing up till 6, it's only 4" - you
"i'll go get it" - joe
he slowly walked to the front door as i watched him.
he looked so good right now, in his grey sweatpants and a plain t-shirt.
i heard a female voice so i made my way over to the door as well.
"maddie? why are you here so early girl"
- you laughed
"i need to talk to you y/n... we'll both of you guys probably" - maddie
she looked nervous, anxious even.
joe looked at me with his eyebrows furrowed before opening the door wider for maddie to walk in.
all three of us walked into the living room.
i sat with joe on the couch and maddie sat in the chair.
"so... what is it you need to talk about?" - joe
"okay so uhm... tyler he uh reached out to me asking to go on a date." - maddie
"oh." - you
"what did you say back?" - joe
joe knew i wasn't going to be able to say anything, so he held our end of the conversation.
he was holding my hand and playing with my engagement ring again.
"i didn't give a real answer.. i told him i'd have to think about it" - maddie
"so what does this have to do with us?" - joe
"i wanted to know if you guys would be okay with me going on a date with him. i mean i don't know if anything will even come from it." - maddie
"what do you want to do? do you want to go on a date with him?" - joe
"well, yeah, kinda i liked him before he met y/n. and when they met we all know what happened"
- maddie
"okay, uh. baby what do you think" - joe
he was looking at me waiting for me to say something when he squeezed my hand encouragingly.
