S3: Chapter 28 - A whole litter

(y/n's pov)

*a week later*

"faster joe!" - you

i just walked over to the practice fields from hq to find the team running sprints, and i'm not gonna pass up on messing with joe.

i was standing under one of the canopy's when zac walked over and stood next to me.

"unfortunately that's not the first time i've heard you say that" - zac

"okay for the 100th time i'm sorry you heard us"
- you

"it's okay y/n. im just trying to push your buttons." - zac

"so you aren't traumatized anymore?"
- you laughed

"oh no i still am. joe sounded like a dying cow."
- zac said causing you to laugh loudly

the subject changed, thank god.

"hey i uh want to ask you something. it's really important" - zac

"of course" - you

"i was hoping to ask you this in a more formal way but i don't know when we'd ever be alone again.. so i wanted to ask you if i have your permission to ask your mom to marry me?" - zac

"oh my gosh! that's amazing zac, of course you have my permission. that's really sweet of you to ask me. i know harry and tommy would say the same thing." - you

"yeah i asked them yesterday, they were both really happy about it." - zac

"i expected nothing else, you're a good guy and you make my mom happy. i've always looked up to you and now my kids do too. what i'm trying to say is.. i am really glad you're in our lives" - you

"i'm really glad too. i know it was probably hectic when you first found out your mom was dating me, but i appreciate your support" - zac

before i could say anything back, zac stepped out from under the canopy and blew his whistle signaling a water break.

joe looked around for me and then trotted over to me under the canopy.

"hey baby" - joe said out of breath

"hey" - you smiled

"do you have any wa-" - you cut joe off by handing him a bottle of water you had grabbed for him, knowing he was gonna ask you

he took the cap off and leaned his head back, chugging the bottle.

"do you guys have plans later? your mom and i were thinking about having a barbecue tonight since harry and tommy are in town"
- zac

"nope we don't have anything going on. right?"
- you turned to joe for confirmation

"yeah we're free, we really don't do anything"
- joe chuckled

zac nodded, i thought he was about to say something about the other night again, but thankfully.. he didn't.

"y/n, i'm sorry but i'm gonna have to send your man away in a little bit" - zac

"i think i'll be okay" - you looked up at joe and smiled

"you look really pretty right now" - joe grinned

"thank you" - you kissed him

"aye aye, enough of that!" - tee

"tee shut it!" - joe

i laughed as joe put an arm around my waist, pulling me into him as one of my hands rested on his chest.

"he's just mad that he's not cool and married like us" - ja'marr
