Book 2 Chapter 13: Fallen into Madness

" I guess we will have to do this the old fashioned way then... Ladies, stand back, I'll handle this. " Quanxi said as she then dashed and cover fired for Denji who was attacking Makima directly head on. Summoning a katana, Makima then used Y/n's body to attack his own friend. It was as if Makima is frenzied in her attempts of killing Denji, as every slash, she was laughing, her corrupted voice taking over Y/n's voice as she took over his mind. However, it was not to be said that she is reckless as she kept a close eye on Quanxi covering fire for the hybrid.

Makima knew she can't turn a blind eye on the first devil hunter as even blinding her won't do no good. It seemed as if the two are doing well against Makima as she was struggling to fight and shrug them off, as if she was being careful of something more than Quanxi.

' Somehow, Makima is holding back on us. Sure she is on a frenzier and elated state that she could finally kill Denji, but there is something bothering me. She is so overly protective of Y/n's body. Hold on... ' Quanxi thought as she suddenly fired an arrow to the head as Makima then has her attention diverted to the arrow which she quickly cut down and was then infuriated at Quanxi. 

Before she could attack the Crossbow Hybrid, Denji blocked her way and slashed Y/n's chest, making Makima see that Denji had shed Y/n's blood and was forced to regenerate Y/n's body with the orb's power.

Suddenly as Denji grinned on finally landing a hit on Makima, Y/n- no, Makima's expressions then went blank, suddenly and recklessly charging at Denji and didn't mind Y/n's body getting damaged. She then blinded Denji with quick slashes and then kicked him towards a wall. Suddenly, the katana Makima was using was thrown and pinned Denji to the wall. 

" One down... but many more nuisances left to destroy. "

' Crack! Shllk! Splat! ' 

The sounds were the things that echoed throughout the vicinity of the Public Safety Devil Hunters' HQ in Tokyo Division. Power had been mercilessly killing everyone who was in her way and left impaled bodies there. Suddenly, she was then met with a metal hand in front of her face. Power suddenly stopped and stepped back, creating more spears in her hands.

" I am not here to fight Power. We are at the same side. " Auron said as his appearance was now more different. After the self destruction of Magician, he was struggling to restore his body and half of his face is nothing but an endoskeleton as well as his left arm. The Machine Devil ran out of its capabilities to restore him and had to resort to makeshift parts. Skin couldn't be synthesized so it was just metal parts imitating the anatomy of the muscles.

" Oh...wow, you really look messed up. Anyway! Where's MAKIMA?! I wanna kill her! " Power asked as she threw the spears everywhere as she was causing havoc. " Calm down damn it, you are too riled up to disable someone's unconscious body. " Auron told Power as she kept rampaging and killing. 

" Calm. Down. " Auron said in a robotic, yet demanding tone which scared Power. She didn't like the feeling of being ordered around by someone who isn't Y/n and then again, she knows better than to piss off someone who had just gone to a fight.
