Her eyes slowly opened, and she wearily stared around her surroundings. It was sunny, and her head was clear. It pounded furiously as she tried to think of what just happened, and she cupped her forehead in her hands. When she stood up, she noticed Leorio over the tree across from her and began walking towards him.
She stumbled over the path and tripped lightly over a rock. Incoordination didn't suit her.
Before she hit the floor, she was pulled up by an unusual force and activated Gyo. Her eyes widened as a pink string of aura connected to her back lend right to Hisoka's finger, and he wagged it playfully.
She caught on. So this bound her to the floor before. Clever.
He turned away from her, the string of his aura still connected to her back. She ignored him after her conclusion and ran up to Leorio in a staggering form. Gon and Kurapika were there as well and jumped up off the grass as they saw her.
"Lilah! Are you okay?" Gon asked, knowing he couldn't reveal what had come to pass.
"I'm fine, but my memory's hazy. Care to remind me what just happened?" she sheepishly asked, and Kurapika sighed heavily.
"You were hit by a creature near the beginning of the run, and I carried you back with Gon and Killua. Honestly, you're so reckless," he sighed.
Lilah laughed softly and apologized, not noticing Hisoka staring at her with a small smile.
"What happened?"
Illumi stepped out from behind him and folded his arms. Hisoka sighed.
"Nothing."
"Don't lie to me."
The magician blinked. "Me? Lie?"
Illumi stayed composed. "Your Nen is clearly attached to her back."
"So we ran into each other in the wetlands. Big deal. Why is it of your concern?"
"You seem to have a twisted interest in her, though I can't pinpoint as to why," Illumi casaully drew out.
"Nothing to fret about. Just another toy amassing potential strength that intrigues me. A fight would suffice, maybe even a few."
Illumi raised an eyebrow. "Never have I heard you mention several fights with an opponent."
His expression remained blank. "Is that an issue?"
Illumi shook his head. "Something I took notice of. Don't mangle with her too much. I still need a sparring partner that isn't as much of a nuisance as you."
He looked appalled. "I beg your pardon."
"Do not even bother arguing with me. I've already placed too much of my time into this useless conversation. Good day."
Hisoka huffed slightly in response, eyeing Illumi as he trudged away to brood by himself.
Walking over to a nearby tree, he sensually eyed her converse happily with Killua, Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio. He rested his chin in his hand, looking longingly at her features, and grazing over her body with eyes alone.
It was only when he caught Gon's disgusted look at him did he smile, and waved very slowly at him. Gon turned away, so creeped out that Killua was also thrown off.
"Hey, why is Hisoka staring at you, DJ?"
She turned her head in the direction Killua pointed in, and looked at him with a small giggle.
"You're seeing things, there's no one there."
Killua looked back and huffed angrily. "I swear he was there."
