"Is something up?" Sayuri asked as we entered our room.

"Huh? Do I look weird?"

"W-Well, you look very happy and it's unlike you..."

"...I'm not sure how I'm supposed to take that, though I guess you're right. Yeah, I... how to explain... finally found an answer to a problem I had for a long time."

Her eyes lit up immediately as I said that.

"That's amazing! You're so smart, being able to do that."

"No need for flattery, and it's still in the experimental phase."

"But you really are amazing!"

I quickly gave up trying to calm her down, as if hype had taken her over. I simply let her say what she wanted to say until she was willing to listen to some other topic.

We ended up spending most of the evening patrolling around. I made sure for Sayuri to go near the self-use arena, but nothing ended up happening over the evening. We went to eat, took turns bathing and went sleeping.

The next day, I managed to wake up early enough that I was in time for classes. My headache wasn't nearly as bad as the days prior so I was glad and happily went to class.

Unfortunately, that glee quickly faded as classes started as the topic was very boring to me. It was about how exactly to use magic, and since I had decent enough understanding of every type of magic, runic aside, I already knew everything said.

The next class was the most basic of basic maths and was even more boring. I ended up nearly dozing off in the middle of the class, though Sayuri helped me stay awake since she needed a lot of help.

Lunch was basic, patrolling was uneventful, then came time for practical training. It was the same as the day before, so I worked hard to further understand and learn about the method I had come up with.

This exact routine went on for two more days, until Saturday. I woke up at the same time as usual and prepared as I normally would, though I was worried that Sayuri was sleeping in. I gently shook her to wake her up.

She grunted and looked at me, barely awake.

"What is it Lilia..."

"You need to get up, we're going to be late."

"It's Saturday... Let me sleep."

She turned back around and seemingly went back to sleep as I realised I had completely lost track of the week. I had grown so used to working every day that I forgot most people had rest days. I giggled at myself and left, letting Sayuri sleep.

The door of the dormitory was still closed which was a bit saddening, but breakfast seemed to be done so I ate ahead and waited for the doors to open. They were surprisingly late to open, and I headed straight to the arena.

I was first arrived, so I went to one of the inner corners and continued my studying of the spell. Sayuri eventually joined me.

"What are you doing Lilia?"

"I'm training."

"But today is Saturday..?"

"It might be a weekend, I have more work to do, so I'll keep working. You don't have to if you don't want to."

I was too focused on trying to keep the new spell active and making it more natural for me to look at her expression.

"...I'll go patrol then."

"Okay, be careful!"

I continued focusing on the spell. Alice was being both kind and mean at the same time, using my water magic to force me to activate the water block spell from places I didn't expect and didn't have any form of sight from. It helped tremendously with increasing my learning pace, but was quite harsh on my mind.
