I was instinctively stressing from having to do this, but I pushed myself forward. I had to do what I could. I had to trust in the Cataract to make me able to do this. Inhale, exhale, and go for it.
I conjured up some water from the Cataract next to me and made it float like snake around and above me, spiraling until it reached the peak. The flow of water was constant and fluid, much like the movement.
I was stressed, but not uncomfortable. It seemed odd to me, as I was doing exactly what would normally send me into a death spiral of pain. And yet, I wasn't simply managing. I was thriving. Never before had magic felt so natural to me.
I knew merely controlling water wouldn't be enough for the test however. So, I decided to send it like a spear flying across the sky, directly forward, to crash into the wall far off into the distance. I gather everything above me and made it fly. shaped like an arrowhead.
It turned out to be a lot more powerful than I ever imagined. Not only did the water fly at an extreme speed, reaching the wall in a fraction of a second, but it successfully destroyed, dare I say exploded, the wall. The stones flew all over the place, the remnants crumbling in place. A large hole had been made in this five meter tall wall, spanning its entire height.
"...Crap I'm sorry I didn't think I'd break anything." I said in a panic.
They simply stared at the newly created orifice in complete disbelief. It took an awkwardly long silence before Koko-sensei spoke up.
"Well I see you're...strong in water magic!"
"Is that why you always said you can't use it? You're too strong too control it?" Tanaka-san asked.
"Ah...Well, truth be told, yeah."
"I can't blame you. That was a reinforced wall made of highly resistant material, with antimagic runes carved, within a protection field. And you pulverised it in a single attack."
"...I'm sorry." I meekly replied.
"God the cost to repair it..."
"Uhm, I'll try to at least put it back together. I can't do anything about the runes though."
"Put it back together? What do you mean?" Koko-sensei asked.
"Well, I can place the different pieces of stone back in their place and hopefully reinforce it with sand so it stands up until it's properly rebuilt."
"Right, you're very proficient at natter manipulation magic. Go ahead then," Tanaka-san confirmed.
I nodded and hurried to rebuilding the wall. Finding every possible piece was a lot more difficult than expected. Many pieces had flown into the side of the arena, some even damaging the wall behind it. I ended up taking a long time just to gather everything, which worried me a little. Regardless, I started trying to piece them together.
I quickly came to the realisation that the majority of the wall had been pulverised into dust. The number of proper wall pieces were few and the average size small. I had to find a way to fix it up beyond just using sand to patch it up a little.
I ended up settling on trying to gather the stone dust that had started coating the entire place to try and create makeshift stones. It also helped me better understand how I would end up making the wall be rebuilt purely by magic, since I didn't have any way to make them stick.
I managed to rebuild a false, ugly wall by the time the bell rang. I was a bit disappointed by the result but happy to have managed to at least do something about my own mistake. Koko-sensei came to me once I was done.
"You really are abnormally powerful, aren't you..."
"...I'm sorry," I merely repeated.
"I don't mean your water magic, though that one really is beyond abnormal. I mean even your earth and summoning magic. Being able to rebuild a wall like this is really impressive."
