Chapter 51: March of Destruction

Jellal was already on the ground by the time Raiga had reached him.

Raiga: Jellal!!

Raiga lifts Jellal back up by the collar of his shirt.

Raiga: What the hell do you think you're doing!?

Jellal: Like I said, I'm sacrificing myself to free Erza from her pain.

The Magic Circle slowly started to complete itself.

Cobra: (So you're going to take the cancellation for the magic circles to the grave with you?)

Raiga: That's a load of bullshit! You seriously think killing yourself will make her pain go away? That has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard! You need to live, and atone for your actions the right way! If you think you can just walk away from all this you've got another thing coming!

Jellal slowly started to close his eyes, and Erza started to run towards him and Raiga, tears coming out of her eyes as she ran.

Erza: JELLAL!!!

Raiga stares at Jellal in anger as the Self-Destruction Squares slowly continues to complete itself. For a moment, Jellal's eyes opened again as he looked at Erza.

Jellal: Erza... Why... are you crying?

Erza then notices the tears in her glove.

Jellal: You are so kind...

Jellal's eyes then closed again and he went unconscious.

Erza: Jellal! You have to stay awake!

Raiga: Damn it! Pull yourself together! If you die, I'll kill you!

The loud sound of a staff hitting the ground caused everyone to look back and see Brain.

Brain: What is the meaning of this?

Raiga was shocked to see Brain.

Cobra: Brain.

Erza wiped her tears and turned to face Brain, who was looking at the magic circle forming on Nirvana.

Brain: A self-destruction magic circle?

Cobra: Jellal constructed it, that bastard! This is bad! At this rate, we'll have finally found Nirvana only to see it destroyed!

Brain smirks as he walks towards the group.

Brain: Worry not, Cobra. I'm sure you know why I have the codename "Brain."

Raiga: I thought you picked it because it sounded cool. On a sidenote: It doesn't.

Brain: I was once a member of the Ministry of Magical Development.

Raiga: Meaning...?

Brain: During that time I used my knowledge to create hundreds of new spells. One of them is the self-destruction magic circle. And I was the one that taught it to you. Or have you forgotten, Jellal?
