Chapter 100: A Fairy's Tale

It's been over a week since the Tenrou Island incident. After barely escaping Acnologia's attack, Raiga and Fuuwa fell into the ocean and were rescued by one of the Council's military warships, then were taken to headquarters for interrogation.

Currently, Raiga was being held handcuffed in one of the interrogation rooms, picking his nose without showing a hint of emotion.

Raiga: ...

???: Greetings.

At that moment, a familiar face walks in.

Raiga: You're...

Lahar: Captain of the Magic Council's 4th Custody Enforcement Unit.

Raiga: What was your name again? Larry?

Lahar: It's Lahar.

Raiga: Oh, yeah. I remember. 

Lahar: It's been a while, Raiga Kiryu. How are you feeling?

Raiga: I'm good. Why wouldn't I be? I just watched all of my friends die. Everything's peachy.

Lahar: A search team is currently looking for any survivors.

Raiga: I doubt you'll find any.

Lahar: My condolences.

Raiga: Where's Fuuwa?

Lahar: She's being interrogated in a different room.

Raiga: I swear, if you or your men lay a finger on her...!

Lahar: There's no need to be on edge. We do not wish to cause either of you harm. I'm only here to talk. And so I have arranged this meeting for us.

Raiga: There's nothing to talk about. Whatever we're being accused of, it wasn't us.

Lahar: You're not being accused of anything. I just wanna get a clear picture of everything that happened back there.

Raiga: What happened to your spy friend? Can't he tell you?

Lahar: There's only so much I can learn from him alone. To really understand, I must speak with someone who experienced the incident first hand from beginning to end. You'll help me, right?

Raiga: And if I refuse?

Lahar: Who agreed to take responsibility in exchange for me overlooking the severe actions of your friends against the Rune Knights?

Raiga just narrows his eyes in annoyance.

Lahar: We don't mind keeping you here for as long as we have to. But the sooner you decide to cooperate, the sooner you'll be allowed to leave. So will you cooperate?

At that moment, Raiga wanted to leave more than anything, so he decided to comply.

Raiga: *Sigh* Fine, you win. 

Lahar then sits down in front of Raiga

Lahar: Fairy Tail has always been a thorn on our side, causing collateral damage, brushing off our warnings. We get complaints about your guild at least once or twice a month... And yet at the same time, you've played a huge role in solving almost every major incident this past year. One could say your guild was both a blessing and a curse.

Raiga: To us, you guys were just a curse, a terrible one at that.

Lahar ignores Raiga's comment out of consideration for his emotional state.

Lahar: Before we begin, let me warn you. Your testimony will be serious. I'm sure you understand why.

Raiga: Sure, sure.
