Chapter 24

4 Days Later

Your POV

Today is the day. The day me and Astrid competes. She practically told the entire village. She seems so cocky but she is a good person overall.

"Well, you ready (D/n). Lets show Astrid what we have been training up to, alright girl!" I exclaim. (d/n) bounces around so excited.

We've been training non stop after we got Hiccup's gift done. After the competition today I plan on giving him his gift whether I win or lose. I just hope he'll like it. I made sure all the calibrations work. Every button is working, etc. I have doubled checked his gift so many time, I could tell what part was where.

"Well lets go girl." I say. I hope on (d/n) and we take off. Hiccup and Valka had to be there early to get all the stuff set up and make sure there wasn't anything going to happening while the competition was going on.

When we got to the arena the entire village was already there. I entered the arena and left (d/n) to play with Toothless until the race portion was to begin. When I entered, Astrid was there sharping her double edged axe.

"Good to see you (y/n), hope you trained well to lose!" She exclaimed. I knew that this was her competitor side, and would want to win very badly. I knew this much about Astrid.

"Well since your both here lets begin shall we." Hiccup says appearing out of no where. Me and Astrid both nodded and followed Hiccup to the center of the arena.

"People of Berk, lets hope this next few events goes well and no one gets hurt. Now rules state that someone may challenge another, but may only go on with such events if the opponent of the challenger agrees. Astrid here as challenged (y/n) and (y/n) has agreed. There are 3 portion of events. The first being hand to hand combat. The second being Weapon of chose combat. And the last and final event being a dragon race." Hiccup announces to the audience.

"Let the competition begin!" Hiccup says lastly and the crowd goes wild. Hiccup exits the arena and takes a sit at the chief area up above to view the competition. With his mother Valka by his side.

"Like I said, 1st portion is the hand to hand combat. Nothing dirty ladies, lets have a nice fair fight. You may begin." Hiccup announces while the crowd is cheering. I can hear the bets being placed.

Me and Astrid take opposite sides of the arena, but are only 10 feet from each other. We take our battle stances and begin to circle each other.

Astrid makes the first move for a low sweep kick, I jump to dodge, but fall short when her foot comes up and makes me do a backflip and land on my back. Short of breathe I hurry and get up and take my stance once more, Astrid runs at me with a fierce battle cry. She throws a punch, but I block and take the chance to punch her in her abdomen that was left exposed. When she leans over from the pain I take the next chance and punch her in the face, making her fall backwards. I hear the crowds go wild from this action. I don't like to kick someone while there down so I let Astrid get up. She wipes the blood from her lip and ives me a grin.
