Why Me? (Older Hiccup and Reader)

Chapter 34

Your POV

We let go of each other and finish our breakfast and Hiccup goes to put on his armor. 

"You done yet Hiccup?" I ask.

"Yea." He says walking back out. Our dragons are still curled up together sleeping. They look adorable. We let them sleep, since you don't wake up a sleeping dragon. Especially a Night Fury, me and Hiccup have had are experiences before. So we just left them a basket of fish beside my make shift bed. 

"Okay, since your head hasn't fully healed, you miss, are not working today. My mom said she'll watch over the workers you and her we're suppose to watch. I'll be with with until your head heals." Hiccup says walking out of the cave with me following right behind.

"Dang, there goes my cliff diving activity with (d/n) today." I say sarcastically.

"We'll do that, once your head heals." Hiccup says chuckling a bit. We walk out to see the workers heading towards the cave. I get of bunch of 'hope your well', 'get better soon' stuff from everyone that passes us. Thats when Valka walks up to us.

"Hey there lassy, how's your head?" She asks me.

"Oh, I'm a bit dizzy, but I'm doing better, and it doesn't really hurt all that much." I answer with a smile. 

"That's great. I'll handle your shift, while you rest. Don't argue either, cause nothing will change my mind." Valka says as she walks away so I wouldn't argue. 

"Well, what do you want to do? I put my mom in charge for the time being." Hiccup says. 

"I don't actually know." I say. 

"I was hoping you'd say that." Hiccup says with a grin. He takes my hand and leads me towards the forest.

"Hiccup, where are you going?" I ask as he drags me deep into the forest. 

"I want to show you something I found while we scouted the area when we got here." Hiccup said.

Hiccup drags me deeper into the forest until we come up on a cave. He doesn't let go of me hand has he takes out is 'Inferno', his sword in which he named. 

"Stay close." Hiccup says.

"Don't worry, I left my sword back at camp. And I don't want to run into a wall." I say smiling at him. He smiles back and leads me into the cave. I stay close like Hiccup says and grab his arm when I hear something behind us.

"What was that?" I asked a bit scared. 

Hiccup's POV

We hear something behind us, and (y/n) grabs my arm with her other hand and squeezes my hand that I'm holding. I can feel heat rise to my face at this. 

"Its nothing, just the cave settling in." I say reassuring her. She looks up at me and I smile. She returns the gesture, but doesn't let go of my arm.

As I lead her to the end of the cave. When I found this cave, I knew I'd have to show her. I'd knew she'd love it. As we get closer and closer to the end, I put up Inferno as we see light up ahead. I start to get excited as we get closer to the end. When we finally reach the end, I see the pit's entrance above us letting the sun shine through and letting light get to all the flowers surrounding the the water hole in front of us. Some rocks was sticking out of the water leading to this small island, in which, what made this place so much better was the little island with a willow tree cascading over the little island.  

I feel (y/n)'s grip loosening on my arm. I look at her to see she is taking in the scene before her. When I look at her eyes, as always, there was wonder. 

"Hiccup, this place is beautiful. Its just so...wow." (y/n) says, trying to find words.

"Magnificent." I state.

"Thats the word." (y/n) says turning towards me with a smile plastered on her face.

"Hey, race you to the willow!" She says hopping from one rock to another.

"Hey no fair ,you got a head start!" I exclaim chasing after her. She keeps hopping from one rock to another while I'm right on her tail. She reaches the island and does this happy dance under the willow.

"I win, again." She says sticking out her tongue.

"Oh, ha, ha, come here you." i say as I begin to chase her.

"No, Hiccup, don't you dare, I know what your going to do!" She exclaims giggling a bit. I chase her some more when I finally catch her. And carefully tackle her to the ground and start to tickle her.

"No....Please...Stop." She says in between breathes. I tickle her some more before I finally stop ands up with my back against the tree. There was a comfortable silence while we looked around the scene around us.

"Thank you Hiccup for showing me this place. Its so beautiful." (y/n) says turning towards me.

"No problem (y/n), glad, I could make this 'resting' day better for ya." I say looking into her (e/c) orbs. We sit there for a few moments just staring at each other before I feel my self leaning in. I see (y/n) do the same. I see my hand go up to cup her cheek as my eyes flutter close. Before they do I see her eyes do the same. Its like I have no control over my body. I can feel her breathe on my lips as we get closer and closer.

I start to feel the tips of her lips when.......
