Why Me? (Older Hiccup and Reader)

Chapter 56

Hiccup's POV

It started to get late and everyone headed back to there hut's. (y/n) stayed with me to look through the book along with Fishlegs. 

The moment we landed Fishlegs was going crazy with training to read the thing. When we walked in, (y/n) laid the book on the floor before backing away.

"Uh, what are you doing?" I asked. 

"Um, trying to save myself from being tackled." Right when she finished the sentence Fishlegs tackled the book on the floor and started to look through it.

"Okay, never mind." I mumbled. Fishlegs laid the book on the floor while we all looked through it at the same time. The book held fascinating information on dragons we didn't even know yet. 

"Look, I think Astrid will like this one. It says that if you feed a Deadly Nadder eats a mixture of raspberry and chicken, that it's armor status will increase by 8." (y/n) states.

"Ooooo, and hear it says that if you feed a Gronkle a rock from the sandy beaches of Dragon island that'll make Gronkle iron!" Fishlegs exclaims. 

"But we don't need the Gronkle iron, now that we have those crystals." I state.

"Yea, but it wouldn't hurt to help though." (y/n) says simple. 

We look through the book more, pointing out benefits that could help us, even new Dragon species, but the book didn't hold a single thing about Night Furies.  

We got through a quarter of the book, until everyone was half asleep.

I close the book and put it up.

"Okay, guys, I think its time for everyone to go back to their huts and go to bed alright." I state. Fishlegs waves us goodbye and (y/n) leaves, but I kiss her good night as (d/n) helps her back to their place. 

I go to bed and pass out the moment my head hits the pillow.

Your POV

(A/N: Sensitive content is about to come up, so if you deal with anxiety or something, read at your own risk.  Cause if you do, I know what your going through, I've been through it as well.)

I lied when I said I was tired. When I left Hiccup's place, I immediately ran towards the little lake I found with (d/n).  It had a small waterfall and pretty different color flowers every where. It was beautiful. 

It was so secluded and quiet. It was so peaceful. Ever since I lost my parents, I've had anxiety attacks about so many little things. I've gotten a better control of them, but when I can since them coming, I usually try to get away from everyone possible. 

(D/n) had seen me have an anxiety attack when I had a nightmare about my parents dying. I couldn't breathe, but she finally calmed me down by purring. 

When I had calmed down, she looked at me with her sapphire eyes with so much worry, I knew from then on out, I had to keep control of my anxiety. I didn't want to see her scared, or anyone else I met along the way scared.

I was so broken for so long, and the bullying and cruel behavior towards me along my travels didn't help. I still am broken, but I'm mending. I have less and less everyday. It used to get to a point where I had them almost every night when I started getting them. 

I came to this lake to be at peace. Here I feel like I can be whoever I want and no body can judge me for it. 

(d/n) suddenly jumped in and splashed me. I laughed at her playfulness and decided to join her. I jumped in and we started to swim with each other. 

We laughed and we swam around while playing with the fish that swam in there with us. 

Then it happened. 

I sudden thought got jarred into my mind causing me to ease what I was doing.

"What if everyone hates me for having anxiety?" I question out loud. 

I could see (d/n) out of the corner of my eye stop what she was doing and just looks at me. 

"What if they leave me? What of they take everything they gave me away, their love, their compassion, their care? What if they take it all back and beat me?" I start to panic and sink to my knees.

By this time (d/n) had realized what was happening and put me on her back while I was shaking. I shut my eyes while more thoughts rushed through my head. I could feel her head move and she started to run toward the waterfall and goes right through it. I hold her tightly while sobbing and shaking still. I could hear echoes and when I looked up I see that we're in a small cave. She lays me up against the wall while I'm still shaking. 

I start to sob more as I curl into a ball and sob. (D/n) snuggles her head in between my head and my knees and starts to purr. She snuggles close to me and wraps her wings, tail and body all around as I feel her whole body purring. 

After a while I calm down and fall asleep while she purrs. 

Next Morning  

Hiccup's POV

I wake up, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and a giant black dragon is licking and jumping all around my room. When I also feel someone shaking me awake. 

"Wha..What, no 5 more minutes Snoutlout....wait Snoutlout?" I exclaim jumping from my bed.

"Hiccup, (y/n) and (d/n) are no where to be seen, I went to feed (d/n) and their gone!" Snoutlout exclaims. 

I get up and hurry and get my armor on and run to (y/n)'s hut where everyone is.

"Okay someone explain to me what's happening?" I ask.

"Okay, so Snoutlout came and woke everyone up telling us that (y/n) and (d/n) are both gone. So we all rush over here to see if we can find any clues, but there are none." Fishlegs exclaims. 

"Okay, I want evreyone to search the island, twins take the South side of the island, Astrid and Fishlegs search the west side, Snoutlout the North side, I'll search the East, now go!" I order. They all nod and mount on their dragons and head off to their designated areas.

Little note: Guys if you suffer from anxiety or something else, I just want you to know that I know what it's like. It's not exactly anxiety, but I bottled up all my emotions and sometimes when I think of something I explode and start to shake and cry and sob. 

Listen to me, everything will be all right. You guys are perfect the was you are.
