Why Me? (Older Hiccup and Reader)

Chapter 93

Your POV

I rush over to the giant tree with (d/n) along side me. I watch her grab her bag and rip it open for a whole bag full of fish to fall out onto the floor. I see all of the dragons, she got them for, eyes' widen at the mere feast before them. 

I smile to see Toothless handing her a giant 30lbs salmon. (D/n) gives a giant smile and 'kisses' Toothless on the side of his face making him go wide eyed. 

I sling the bag over my shoulder and rush over to everyone.

I made Astrid a new Double Edge Axe made of the crystal Berk had stored. I gave Fishlegs a giant journal to record his own findings. Ruff and Tuff their own shiny mace. The moment the twins got their gift they started to beat each other with them. I swear I don't think those too will truly grow up.

For Snoutlout I made him his own Inferno since Gobber isn't done with everyone'e just yet. And lastly Valka.

"Hey Val?" I approach her. 

"Yes dear?" 

"Here, um I made this from research and pictures around the Haddock home. I hope you like it." I hand Val a decorated shield with her, Stoick, and Hiccup all in a family portrait.

Val takes the shield in her hands with her mouth open a gape, letting no words fall from her mouth.

"Dear, this is...this is...beautiful. You got every detail right. All from research and just other portraits?! (y/n) I love it." Val exclaims. She sets the shield down on a table and brings me into a tightening Haddock hug. 

"I'm glad you do. Now I must go and give Hiccup his gift." I mumble the last part.

I rush to find Hiccup gripping his gift in my pocket. 

'Where is he.' I wonder. 

I look all around the Grand Hall being greeted by many. 

'There's only one place where Hiccup would go if a big, and loud celebration is going on....the balcony.' I think. I rush up the stairs and onto the balcony to see I was right. 

Hiccup, with his back turned, is leaning on the railing letting his eyes stare at the stars. I walk up to him.

"Hiccup?" 

I see him hide something behind his back, but I don't question it......yet.

"(y/n)!Oh hey...uh..why aren't you down by the party?" He questions.

"I needed to give you your gift." I pull out a necklace. 

The necklace has a Black Night fury symbol with one tail fin. The Night Fury is surrounding the Berkian crest, which is also red.

Hiccup goes wide eyed at my gift.

"I made it with what little free time I had. I hope you like it." I say hooking the necklace around his neck.

"I...(y/n), this is so beautiful and well crafted." Hiccup brags.

"Its really nothing, I'm just glad you like it." I say.

"Well, its my turn now, um...well....its has a kind of a speech to it though." Hiccup stutters. I nod at his words as he goes to speak again.

"Okay. (your full name), we've known each other for well, almost a year now, and loved one another since the day we met. You've cared for everyone and everything that has come incorrect with, almost, excluding Dagur and our enemies of course, but that's beside the point. Oh, um, well ever since I first laid eyes on you I knew I wanted you to be mine and only mine. I don't know what set it off, your beauty, your personality, your craftsmanship, but I think it was just about everything. You've done so much for a small little village, helped us win with battles, helped restore a lost species and one more thing.........

You loved me. Now, there's only one thing to do. There are three words for you. These three words I want you to know from me to you. 

I love you. Now the next few words. I've been practicing these words all night.

Will you (your full name) have the honor of making me the happiest man in all of the world and marry this awkward Haddock boy?" Hiccup finishes getting down on one knee. He pulls out a red box and opens it to find a beautiful crystallized ring. Handcrafted and one of a kind. 

"Hiccup...." I stand there with my hands covering my mouth and tears coming out of my eyes. 

"Hiccup, yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Let all of Valhalla know that I'll be your wife." I exclaim. I cup Hiccup's face and kiss him so passionately. It felt just like our very first kiss we had, but more love. Our lips moving in sync with one another, his lips taste of vanilla. But the long, but passionate kiss was cut short for our human necessity of air. When we break I see Hiccup had slipped on the ring. I looked down on it and give a big smile. I realized that we both are on the ground. 

We hear a big commotion behind us. As we whipped our heads around I see that all of Berk had just watched us. I start t feel heat rush to my cheeks. I hide my face in Hiccup's chest.

I feel the vibration from Hiccup to know he's laughing at my shyness. 

"Hey....I love you."

"I love you too. You big goofball." 

Were suddenly knocked down by Toothless and (d/n), but (d/n) has a black ribbon around her neck.

"(d/n), where did you get this ribbon?" I question.

"Allow me to shed some light on that." Theo suddenly appears.

"My son, Toothless, has proposed has well to (d/n). Hence forth the opposite color of her scales." Theo simply explains. Me and Hiccup look at one another then at our dragons as they both give a Toothy/Gummy smile.

"Looks like we're having a double wedding." Hiccup says.

I smile and kiss him again.

"So we are."

Sorry for not updating. I honestly didn't feel like it, because my stupid teacher gave me homework on LABOR DAY WEEKEND!! Anyways, hoped you enjoyed. The next few chapters leading up to the big wedding (chapter 100) will be short cute little scenes.
