Why Me? (Older Hiccup and Reader)

Chapter 48

Next Morning

Hiccup's POV

When I woke up, I realized I had stayed up all night trying to figure out the new Night fury info. My journals on my face, but I heard footsteps in my hut. Obviously I didn't know who it was so I slowly pulled the book off my face. I couldn't see the person, but it was maybe about 5 in the morning, based on the sun's position. I was slightly laying on my side away from the mystery person. 

I knew no one I knew got up this early. They was either right after me waking up, or right with me. 

I heard a bunch of shuffling and searching I suspected going on behind me. I slowly reached for the small dagger I had laying near my stuff. I slowly reached other and grabbed it and moved back to my place. 

I held the dagger close to my chest. I heard the footsteps come close to me. I prepared to take the intruder down. As the footsteps stopped directly behind me, I jumped right on the intruder and held the dagger right at their throat when I land directly on top of whoever. 

As the adrenaline subsided from me as I realized who was under me.

"(y/n)!" I exclaim removing the dagger from her neck.

"Yes. What? Not surprised to see me?" She laughed.

"Well I am, and relieved that I didn't hurt you." I say. 

It wasn't long after I realized what the position we was in. I had my hands on either side of her head trying to hold most of my weight off of her. I had one knee, between her legs,holding my bottom half of my weight. And the other leg, was positioned further back behind the first with the knee bent on the floor. 

I could feel myself blushing so hard. I quick;y got off of her and helped her up. Once I had helped her up, she stumbled a bit forward, but I caught her. 

Now I was holding her close to me while her arms was tightly against my chest and my arms was wrapped around her waist. 

I gave her a kiss on her forehead and let her go.

"So, why in the world was who in my place this early in the morning? Did something happen?" I asked her.

"Oh, am I not allowed to come see my boyfriend now?" She sassed.

"Well, you can, but you could have woken me up." I say. We just laughed it off, then I smelled some food cooking.

"Well, one of the night terrors had woken me up to help get one of its friend's wing out from under a rock that fell on it, I've stayed up since. So I decided to come over here and surprise you with a fully cooked breakfast by the time you woke up. I went to check and see if you were still asleep, but I was wrong and pinned." She explained.

"Ah, I see, well sorry about that." I say scratching the back of my neck awkwardly. 

"Its alright. I had a feeling I might have scared you when you did wake up. By the way you look cute when you sleep with a book on your face." She says putting some food on two plates for us. I thanked her and we began to eat.

After we ate, (y/n) told me she already fed the dragons. We decided to meet the group in  my hut to discuss he new info.

When everyone was there we started to see what we could come up with. 

"'What if its about more treasure?" Snoutlout suggested.

"What if it's another homeland of a dragon we already know?" Fishlegs suggested.

"Guys, I don't think its any of those." I say.

"Well, what do you have so far?" Astrid asks.

"Well, what we did figure out is that stuff my mom already told us about Night furies, like the extra flaps for tighter turns. But's there's this riddle we couldn't figure out.
