Chapter 10 - Churchetour

While showing you the church he told you a lot. At the main entrance, a huge picture caught your eye. There was a woman on it who was beautiful. Almost like the goddess of hell. "Who is she?" you asked Copia as he looked at the picture, as if he had seen it for the first time too. "That's a chosen one. Everyone idolized her and owed her a lot. She always protected hell when some evil creatures trying to attack it. She lived many years ago and suddenly disappeared. No one knows what happened to her." "Oh... but yes... she's really pretty." And so you went on.

Copia showed you how living would be if you would live here. Everyone has tasks that are individually set by the ghoul. For example, Copia took you to the garden, where you have some of your vegetables. Mountain, Cumulus and Sunshine take care of the garden.

But there are also tasks that change from week to week. Everyone has to cook or clean sometime.

You even have animals to look after. You have a few rabbits, sheep and even horses. Right now, only Rain was responsible for that. He was even in the stable when Copia wanted to show it to you. Rain had also talked to you briefly when Copia took you with him again.

The area was huge, with the deep forest right next to it. You guessed that the three ghouls are working day'n'night keeping the garden like this.

You liked that there were gravestones everywhere. They looked very old, but that gave the church its atmosphere. And you generally liked the vibe of the church.

Copia and you showed you the rest of the garden. They even had a huge pool right next to the terrace. "That's almost the highlight of the whole church." Copia explained to you. But your highlight was the huge library and a large tree with a comfortable swing on it.

You already see yourself swinging and chilling there in the future.

At the end of the tour, he showed you the practice room. You talked a bit about how your piano skills were going. Copia brought up the idea that he would like to have you in the band too. "It's always been my dream to play in a band with you. That's why I wanted to learn the piano in the first place." you told him after all these years. "Aww... don't make me emotional again."

You sat down behind the piano and played him a song that you had written yourself. You found it challenging, which took a few years of practice, so you were proud of yourself when you played it without mistakes. Then you looked back at Copia, who had tears in his eyes. "You're perfect." he said quietly.

Three ghouls were already cooking dinner when the sun began to shine annoyingly through the windows. Copia really wanted you to stay for dinner.

"You haven't even met all the ghouls. Please stay for dinner." "I don't want to annoy the other ghouls. Besides, I have to work at 8pm and that's going to be tight for me if I stay." "Ok... too bad... then at least let me drive you home."

"What... you're driving already? Why don't you stay for dinner?" Fire was just coming down the big steps when he overheard your conversation. "It's all right. I really don't want to disturb you." "If you live here soon, you'll be disturbing us all the time. No... jokes.. but really... stay. Or are you afraid we'll be eating dead people with souls?" Fire laughed when Copia gave him an annoyed look.

"Clay has to work, unlike you right now, right?" "Oghh I'll do it after dinner Copia. Bye Clay, see you soon." "Bye Fire." And so Fire left and Copia drove you home. It suddenly felt strange in your apartment. Everything was suddenly so empty around you and for the first time in a long time you felt lonely.

A little sad, you got ready for work. You couldn't stop thinking about the church the whole time. It was just too beautiful a place.

Straight after work, you wrote to Copia. He wanted to give you a week to think about whether or not you wanted to accept the invitation before discussing further steps with you.

You've just come out of the bathroom and got ready for bed. Fire, your boyfriend, was already lying down, just waiting for you. You couldn't get Clay out of your head the whole time. Why her? You found her almost unbearable at the collage and soon you might be living under the same roof?

You were suddenly afraid that she would snatch your boyfriend away from you. He must hate her.

"What did you think of the new one today?" "Do you mean Clay? She seemed quite nice. I'm sure it won't be boring with her if she decides to join us. But why do you ask?" "I know her from Collage. She was the one who made me spill the milkshake on you." you lied, even as tears welled up in your eyes. "That was her?!" "Yes... she hurt me so many times and took advantage of me." you spun the story. "Hey... shh... all good... oh you must have felt terrible when you saw her today."

You cried briefly in Fire's arms. You lied to him and told him that she was the reason you were here.

She wanted to jump off a bridge into the water with you for fun. You jumped and she didn't because she pulled back at the last second. You hit a rock and died. Satan was sorry, so he took you back to himself. That's how you got into the church.

The real reason, but why you died the first time, nobody knows except you. And you want to keep it that way.
