*Clay's pov*

Sourly, you held the towel to your arm to keep from losing so much blood. You stormed up to your room and straight to the bathroom. "How can you be such a bitch!" you yelled when you saw the cut. The wound on your lower arm was at least 10cm big.

You carefully wiped away all the blood and put a bandage around your arm.

Tears came to your eyes as everything from the collage flew around your ears again. You frantically tried to catch your breath as your legs gave out and you fell to the floor.

Faire wants you to stay away from her and your friends. You're already with people again and taking on the role of the outsider again. "Fine. If you don't want me around, bitch, I'll leave you alone." You knew that Chantal gets particularly upset when someone sticks to the rules she's given someone. If someone doesn't stick to them, she can get upset again and get attention. So you know what do to.

When the meal was finished, you went back downstairs. Some people were already sitting down when you were about to open something.

"Oh Clay... how are you?" Faire stood next to you as her high-pitched voice gave you another headache. "Why do you want to know that?" you said without emotion as you didn't even pay attention to her. In the corner of your eye, you could easily see how upset she was that you weren't participating.

"Because I was worried about you," she said after a long pause. "Faire, leave her and sit down." Fire suddenly stood next to her and had his hand around her waist. So he pulled her away from you as you exhaled in relief. Thanks Fire.

The next day, the ghouls were all somehow much crazier than you actually knew them. You were sitting outside in the garden reading a book when Copia texted you.

Copia:
"Tonight. In my office. And bring your sleeping clothes. Today is a special day."

Was the only thing he texted you, as you got even more confused. He often talked about this special day, but never told you what was behind it.

Just as Copia texted you, you packed your things and went to him. It felt like he was pulling you into his office when you finally stood in front of his door. Once inside, he locked the door again. You looked at him in confusion. "Why am I here? And why did you lock the door? I'm not going to leave." "Today is BloodyMoon. Once a month, the moon is so special that the ghouls react to it. The BloodyMoons have different strength on each element every month. So it once would affect the EarthGhouls more and the FireGhouls less. Sometimes they start reacting to it as early as midday. This is easily recognizable by their completely black eyes. Most of the time, these ghouls are so aggressive around midnight that we lock them away before then."

"And how do the ghouls change during a BloodyMoon?" "They are more aggressive and more sensitive. Sometimes they just have a huge desire for sex. Sometimes they want to hunt. And since you're still human, you're the perfect prey. That's why you're here. So you're out of the zone and when they can attack other ghouls." Copia explained to you.

The topic was a bit strange for you, but also interesting. You then talked about other things. It felt good to talk to someone you could trust. You sat together in front of his fireplace when he showed you his rats. The rats were like his children as he cuddled them. A few of them sat with you and slept on your arm.

"...oh I remember well the first days of some of the ghouls here in the church. When Fire was still completely uncontrolled with his power. He almost burned down the whole church once because of it. And right after that, Rain flooded it. He had just as little control as Fire. We were glad the fire was out, but it took a while to get the water out." You laughed when Copia told you these stories. "I'm really excited to see what you'll be like and what element you'll have." he added.

You were also really excited to see what element you would have. You were starting to get nervous, because it wasn't long now.

You went to the toilet again when you noticed a glass vase. There were masks and old collectibles inside. You were most interested in what these masks were all about. You also noticed that each one had a name. "What happened to these ghouls?"

„Those are the masks of my favorites. They are honored here." you could tell Copia was getting more emotional, as he came up next to you. „Why did these ghouls have to go? Weren't they immortal?" „They didn't choose to leave themselves.. Mist got attacked by a demon and we didn't notice until it was too late. And Water died from Love." „Love?" „His girlfriend was Mist. After Water marked Mist as his they were bonded. If one dies so the other. His face started to crack and so his body as he became weak and died." a tear left Copias eye as it ran down his check.

„Oh I'm so sorry about that. I didn't mean to make you cry either. I'm sure they are having a place in your heart forever." „They do. And shortly after that, I was sent to you. You have so many similarities to them. That's another reason why you are so important for me and I wanted you back."

After that both of you decided to go to sleep. You cozied up on his sofa and quickly fell asleep. Every now and then you woke up hearing either wolf cries, romantic moans or screams outside the door. Since it once scratched at Copias door, you hid yourself under your blanket even more. „Relax.. I'll stay with you. Don't be afraid." a quit high pitched voice was suddenly next to you. When you opened you saw one of Copias small rat laying down next to you.

„Why the fuck can I hear you?" you whispered. „Nope.." you didn't even wondered about that. The church was crazy enough. So understanding rats wasn't the biggest wondering.

With the rat next to you you forgot about the fear you had a minute ago as you felt asleep.
