Chapter 31

After every breath he became clearer and didn't look so high anymore. Everyone wanted to go straight to him and know how he was doing, while you stayed in the background for now.

You had a thousand questions going through your head, which were the result of the kiss with Fire. What if ghouls do notice when they are kissed, even though they are unconscious? What if he didn't notice it after all? Now he's still lying there so unknown. What if he is just overacting? It would be stupid to ask now.

"How are you doing now?" Sister asked him. "Good... actually pretty good... I'm barely in pain anymore..." he smiled, which melted your heart to see him like that again, after all that shit happend.

"Weid... actually a ghoul is in pain for quite a long time when its horn is missing. It doesn't get less until it's completely grown back. And what about the scar across your belly... doesn't that hurt a bit?" she asked, horrified. "N-no... it really doesn't hurt me anymore..."

"Do you remember anything about the incident then?" asked Copia to him. "Yes... I... I ran away. But Abacus was faster, of course, and had me already.... I flew through the air and he attacked me. Then all of a sudden something knocked him off me. Seconds later his hand flew through the air. Sunshine was with me at some point. Weakly I saw how this creature fought against the brothers. Then it fought even though it couldn't fight anymore. Why it did that, I would like to know. Why did it know it had to protect us? The last thing I noticed was that the creature got a fat knife through my left shoulder, then I fainted," Fire somehow explained to everyone.

The sister then asked him a thousand questions and every now and then you held eye contact for a few seconds, which always ended with red walls on your face.

In the end Terzo took the worda, since we were all there. "So ghouls... don't get me wrong, but since it will probably take a while to find the chosen one, I want you to go into the forest only in groups of five or not at all. I am simply afraid for you after what happened to Fire. A Chosen One can also be very dangerous at her appointed stages of her elements and nobody knows his elements and his Story."

*while Sunshine, Fire and Air were out in the woods*.

All the ghouls met up at the appointed time and were nervous. How he makes her so crazy... and when we asked her about it, that she just has a crush on him, she was always like... yeah... I don't know... she just always said that she doesn't know about love and doesn't know if she really loves him, it could just be her feelings that are a little mixed up. She thinks that Fire sees her only as a good buddy and nothing serious is behind it. Then she also mentioned that Copia actually forbade him to fall in love, but she felt that something serious could come out of them... if it would happen at all."

Another short time passed. Fire was fine again and the matter of the new Chosen One was the new topic of conversation in the Church and Hell. Many theories were put forth but in none did your name appear. Which you thought was kind of cool.

Every now and then you thought about just breaking it up and saying "Hey... so yeah... I... eh... am the chosen one that's driving everyone crazy right now." But you always kept yourself tough.
