[ How To Run Away From The Mess You Made; You Can't ]
Life would've been a lot more easier if the people we desperately want to dislike aren't as courteous as they are.
There were so many things that she could hate about him, yet, more often than not, he would unconsciously do things that would make her think of so much more things that she could like about him.
It was something like a compulsion, a habit where escaping wasn't in the dictionary.
"Would you be alright with me driving you home?"
Jeonghan knew quite well that no matter how much he'll try to make her stay until it would be less difficult for her to get home, she would come up with so many reasons on why she shouldn't.
Frankly, he wished that her sleep would have lasted a lot more longer and woke up when the sun was already out. . solely for the purpose of her security.
She instantly shook her head to the thought of having to bother him further more. "N—No, you don't have to."
An extensive slice of her mind was still on the idea of him being so good with the things he say, he asks, he do, and everything else that contributed to the way how she likes him, hence unabling her to talk without stammering and she wished that she could just stop talking.
"You're aware of how late it is right now, right?"
"Yes. .", She slowly nodded her head, understanding his point, however, she still had so much more reasons to offer of course. "But. . you stayed up and waited for me the whole time I was asleep, you can't expect me to accept more of your favors."
His brows frowned, yet his face remained soft. "I told you, I don't mind."
Raki thought of pointing out the comfortable clothes he had changed into as her alibi, yet the more she placed her attention into them, the more she started feeling tense about the unusual sight. Sweat shorts, plain white shirt, and up to his post-shower hair that had been dried out over time.
"Your clothes. . uhm. .", She set her lips into a thin line.
"What about them?"
"You look. . comfortable. . enough. .", She swallowed the lump that persistently formed in her throat. ". .to do extra efforts and go out."
His eyebrows delicately raised, his lips forming a subtle smile. "What else?"
She felt her breath halting for a moment by his statement. "What— What do you mean 'what else' ?"
"Up to you on how you'll interpret it."
She was left clueless, yet, at the same time, she had the thought that he possibly was asking if she had some more reasons or if she had anything else to say about his clothes.
Raki wandered her gaze around every stuff she could spot on the floor, before she stood up and looked him in the eye. She felt as if the more time she spent on that dreaded place, the more she will put herself into uncomfortable situations.
"I'll just get an uber. . or something."
Jeonghan hesitantly stood up, of which had caused them to decrease their distance. "You sure?"
Her smile was faint when she nodded. "Yeah.", She took a couple of steps towards the direction of the door. "Thank you for letting me stay here at your place for awhile."
He started to follow, and it took them a matter of seconds to reach the front door together. "You can always come by whenever you need a rest.", He slid the door open and she couldn't help but watch him the whole time he did, partly because of the words he uttered.
