[ Our Own Perception Of Love ]
Raki slowly closed her bedroom's door behind her, set down the paper bag that contained her chinese noodles somewhere she probably wouldn't remember before taking a seat on her bed, not expecting she would come back inside with her mind as disoriented as it could get.
In all likelihood, her heart must've just waited for it, because as soon as she remembered to breathe and made a single exhale, it pounded like crazy.
The next thing that could possibly happen was, it getting exhausted, stop working permanently and would be the cause of her death.
And to die like that was the most pathetic, yet majestic thing that she could ever think of. To die like that was something she wouldn't blame him for.
It was as if her body jolted out of a sudden shock from a defibrillator, waking her from the depths of death and back into the surface of reality, as soon as she felt her phone vibrating through the bed.
She rarely receives calls, and having no idea of who it was, she grabbed her phone, instinctively stood up and made known of the caller whilst she was at it.
Jeonghan. It wasn't even an exaggeration when she almost had thrown her phone.
It was not the first time he had called her, yes, many times already actually, but, the situation varied and as far as she knew, they just had a conversation, bid goodbye's, and it all happened right at the yard of her house.
She answered his call and strode towards the window right as she placed her phone on her ear. He was out of sight, yet his car was still right at where it was.
It took him too long to say anything, given the fact that he was the one who called. "Hello?", She did him a favor, if it was considered one.
"Oh, hey.", His voice sounded unusual, like gone was the smooth talker.
"Hi.", She greeted again, feeling extensively awkward. "What. . did you call for. .?", No matter how much she squinted her eyes, she had zero chance of seeing him through the tinted windows of his car.
"Oh, right. .", The sound of him clearing his throat made her gulp, and it was a long pause before he began to talk again. "Do you happen to have any plans tonight?"
"Tonight?", To have dinner with his parents? They would usually do those meet ups on wednesdays, fridays, or saturdays, twice a week maximum, and with regards to his question, she doesn't know what day it was, or what exactly was happening.
"Yeah, tonight. ."
Raki accepted the fact that she had no choice but just to have to meet him again, on that same day, even though she was too far from ready. "Of course.", She turned away from the window and rested her shoulders on the wall beside it. "And you don't have to ask me if I'm busy or anything, I clear most of my night plans for the agreement."
Now that she had come to think about it, it was the first time he made sure she had no other plans before asking her to have dinner with his parents, when usually, he would straight up get to the point. And for the record, he hasn't mentioned the agreement yet.
"The agreement. Right.", He chuckled to the word as if it was something new to him.
Raki instantly shook her head once finding herself thinking that he possibly had meant something else. He was acting out of the ordinary, how can she not.
She felt as if the time was hurried, yet dragging at the same time. And she was carrying the burden of the idea of phone calls more than the one who dialed himself.
