After lunch, Jennie made Jisoo go with her to the immigration department. The blonde could barely stand on her feet because she was so nervous that morning. Because of that, she couldn't even enjoy her dumplings in her spare time, as her head was buzzing with the possibility of marrying the woman who was destroying her life just for being her boss.
Not having an appetite was a very rare thing for the assistant. Sometimes this happened, it was something related to her emotions, as she had some difficulty dealing with them. And being dragged into a lie that could jeopardize her freedom, her reputation, and her career was something she just couldn't handle.
Even though she was trying to remain calm, she could feel her palms sweating, her throat dry and one of her eyelids fluttering. Jennie had brought her to such a high level of stress with that story that she felt like she was going to pass out at any moment. Which, if she think about it, wouldn't be a bad idea. If she fainted, she would end up in the hospital and, who knows, maybe the brunette wouldn't get that ridiculous idea out of her head? But, this being Jennie, she might have taken a justice of the peace to her hospital bed just to get married.
Looking out the window of the car that would take them to the department, the blonde was seriously thinking about opening the door to throw herself in the middle of the avenue. Upon thinking straight and realizing that it could hurt badly with that act, Jisoo let an exhausted and heavy sigh escape her lips. She knew she was really screwed. She was screwed in a way that only Jennie could screw her. Besides being a bitch, she's clueless, she thought nonstop — too bad the words weren't just in her mind.
"I heard that, Jisoo," Jennie said in her best serious tone as she looked at her phone screen.
"Good."
"What is your problem?" Jennie placed her phone in her lap, staring at the blonde who was still facing the window. "Is the idea of marrying me really that bad?"
"It's pretty bad." Jisoo stared at her, shaking her head in the affirmative. "Why did you do this to me? You have several employees at that publishing house, and you do this to me. Don't you have... I don't know... a friend to get into this trouble with you? Why then me?"
The two looked into each other's eyes for a few moments. Jisoo really wanted to know why she was the winning ticket to be part of that criminal act, but for Jennie, she didn't need to give any satisfaction.
"Hurry up." She took her hands to the car lock to open the door. "I want to get this over with quickly."
"Aarrrrg!" Jisoo looked at the roof of the vehicle, questioning the heavens why she had received that punishment. "I need answers, Jennie." she quickly got out and started to follow Jennie into the building. "If you want me to go along with it, I need to know why."
Already irritated with those numerous questions coming from the blonde, Jennie stopped to stare at her. Jisoo knew at that moment that she wouldn't get the answer she wanted even before the editor opened her mouth to answer her.
"Because I want," she replied haughtily before walking away again.
The short journey to the fifth floor of the building was made in silence. The assistant kept sighing and mumbling to herself while Jennie rolled her eyes.
As soon as they got down on the floor, there was a considerably large queue of people. As she was used to the fact that for almost everything in life she would have to face a queue, Jisoo stopped behind an old man. But when she looked to the side, she realized that Jennie wasn't there. Looking around, she envisioned her boss heading straight for the service desk.
"What do you think you're doing, Jennie?" she whispered as she reached Jennie.
"I'm going to solve our problem," Jennie replied as if it were obvious.
