Around six in the afternoon, Jisoo woke up from her little rest. She was still exhausted from the trip and sleepy, but if she went back to sleep, she would be up all night. Turning to the edge of the sofa, she saw Jennie sitting on the bed opposite her, Jennie's back against the headboard as she read a book under the light of a lamp. It was then that the blonde noticed that the bedroom curtains had been closed and the main light was off.
Jennie was wearing reading glasses - Jisoo didn't even know she wore glasses - and seemed very focused on that book. From what she could see with the dim light coming from the lamp and the part of her face that wasn't covered by the book, the brunette's expressions changed rapidly.
Seeing her in that relaxed way, if anyone didn't know her, the blonde could even say that she was a calm, simple person and almost an angel, not the devil with the piercing look that made her want to pull her hair out. Because of that thought, Jisoo wondered if at the end of the day this was the real Jennie. The Jennie who radiated something very similar to peace.
Inside the company, she was given a rather bad image, she was always the witch, the bitch, the snake that could attack at any moment. But, if away from that job full of people wanting to tear her down for not accepting that she is the best and away from strangers, she was just a beautiful woman who liked to read her book quietly, taking off the mask she wore all day?
It was true that the blonde knew a lot about her boss, they spent many hours together, it would be strange not to know. Only, looking at it from another perspective, Jisoo didn't go home with her at the end of the day, didn't sit with her in a cafe to enjoy the time, didn't have her company at lunch on a sunday off or talk to her about banal things everyday. She only knew what Jennie let her see during those three years and almost none of it was her personal life.
If the brunette was that iron lady that she showed to be to everyone around her, her look wouldn't have wavered when she was called a monster in front of everyone, or the same wouldn't have happened when she said that nobody could stand her. She wouldn't have shown concern when G-Dragon was rude to his own daughter. She wouldn't have bothered to close the windows just to get the best rest possible.
Questions. Questions. Questions.
Jisoo's mind was bubbling with those thoughts that had never surfaced before. It could be that she've been having them, because she was going to marry Jennie soon and I'd have to end up living with her while they pretended to be a couple. 365 days with the publisher's Miss Bitch would be tough, but she wasn't going to jump ship at this point. However, now she thought that she could use those 365 days trying to make their coexistence something better, it could be tiring, but it could be worth it in the end.
"If you keep staring at me like that, I'm going to start thinking that it's because you think I'm too beautiful, but you're ashamed to say it out loud" Jennie raised her eyes to the blonde, but then turned her attention to the book.
Nervous about being caught red-handed, Jisoo brought her hand to her glasses to adjust them.
"Where are my glasses?" She got up and began to search the sofa.
"On your dressing table. I took them off as soon as you slept" Jennie turned the page of the book. "I've already broken some like that, so I took them out."
OK. Someone who didn't give a shit about the people around them wouldn't mind a detail like that, would they?
"Thanks!" The blonde got up going to the dressing table that was next to the balcony door. "I didn't know you wore glasses."
"Apparently there are still things about me that you don't know" Jennie looked at her for a few seconds before going back to reading.
"Did you get some rest?" Jisoo leaned against the dresser crossing her arms.
