Sunday had started off eventfully, Grandma Kim's birthday party was always a milestone. The celebration of the 90th year of life of the adorable little lady with snow-white hair and who welcomed everyone was being planned for a few months by Rosé, Lisa and Irene. Before moving to Seoul, Jisoo was also involved in every detail to make her beloved grandmother happy, but for three years she hadn't been back home or to visit and now she felt too out of place to give an opinion on anything regarding the party.

Being so long without seeing the family had these things. As much as everyone there continued to act the same way with the blonde, the feeling of not belonging to that place invaded her from the minute she stepped into that house. Jisoo would really like not to feel that way, because the people she loved most in the world lived there, but she no longer saw herself sharing a life with her family.

Eleven years ago, Jisoo left home to go to college, she was eighteen at the time and decided that Seoul would be a good place to live. In her last period at university, she got an internship at a magazine where she helped revise texts. When her two-year contract ran out, she was called in for a press interview for the same role. For another two years, she continued reviewing advertising texts for the publisher's upcoming releases. It was then that the vacancy for assistant editor-in-chief opened up. The blonde knew that the chances of getting the job were slim to none as she wasn't that qualified, but she tried anyway. A few days after her interview with Jennie, she received the news she so desperately wanted.

Ever since she was a child, the eldest Kim has wanted to write a book someday, but getting paid to read always seemed like her dream job, so she tried her best at every step that could take her closer to her goal. Of course, she didn't want to be an assistant all life, but, despite everything, Jennie was an excellent professional, and Jisoo ended up learning a lot from her, because she was willing to teach - even if it was in a rather rude way.

During that time away from home, even though she had come back to visit, Jisoo knew she had missed out on a lot. When she left, Irene was pregnant, and Joy was born a few months later. Five years ago, Lisa met Rosé, and the last time she had visited Jeju was precisely at their wedding. Although she kept in touch, she missed the whole process her sister and sister-in-law went through to adopt Ryujin.

They were all still the same, with their quiet little lives, their pre-planned jobs - in the case of Irene and Lisa - and they liked that life. But Jisoo always wanted more. She didn't want to work in the family business like her cousin and sister did, Jeju seemed small to her and didn't offer her the chances she would have in Seoul. It wasn't easy living alone and being far away, but deep down she knew she did the right thing.

While watching Irene and Rosé from one side to the other deciding about the party buffet, Jisoo was taken out of her private world when Ryujin hugged her legs. Even if she had met her the day before, the little girl already owned a good part of her heart.

"Good morning, aunt!" she wished with a huge smile. "What are you doing?"

"Good morning, little one! A breakfast tray" Jisoo took the girl in her arms and sat her on the counter. "Why are you awake at this hour? It's still early."

"Me and Joy are going to get some candies," she whispered with her little hands in front of her mouth.

"And where is she?"

"Hidden" she pointed to the table where they were starting to decorate with sweets and then Jisoo saw a small hand come out from under the tablecloth and grope for sweets.

"And why aren't you there with her?" Jisoo went to the fridge to get the jug of juice. "Shouldn't you be helping her?" She approached again, filling two glasses.
