back.

ten thousand kilos above my head,

and

two miserable sunrays begging to reach me.

forth.

my hands grasp unseen blankets,
my throat bubbles with disbelief.

back.

ten thousand kilometers away from the shore,

and

two desperate breaths before going under.

forth.

my eyes struggle to stay open,
my arms feel heavy like lead.

back.

i've felt this before, this dread.

and

i know this feeling all to well.

forth.

i'm familiar with the taste of salt,
and with the sound of crashing waves.

back.

i've drowned before.

and

i've drowned before.

forth.

back.

at least i know, right before i go down,

and

how calm the waves will go.

forth.

my mind goes blissfully quiet,
and my desperate heartbeat will slow,
and i will gently sway

back
                                               and

 forth
                                                                                 and

back

and

 forth

                                           and
back
.

                                                              and

 forth
                                                                    and

back

and

 forth

                                                     and
forth
.
