As I made my way through the interior of the restaurant, weaving around tables and people as I headed for the door, I could sense Damon following a short distance behind me. I could feel his steely gaze on my back as we went. Having now finally met him, I could put a face to the name Damon Salvatore.
Though technically we just met, I felt like I already knew him. I did sort of, at least I knew of him. I had to admit that he was just as devilishly handsome and sexy as he was said to be. And already I could see that he was arrogant, a bit hot tempered and impulsive but I was sure that I could deal with that. For I knew of the type of person he really was, the part of himself that he hid and walled away. Behind those clear blue eyes was another side of Damon that few knew of and rarely saw. I knew he didn't trust me but I would have to show him that he could. He was an ally that I wanted, someone that I wanted at my side when trouble came.
I exited out of the Grill door and out into the night. Not looking back I headed for my Dodge Charger across the road. I didn't see Amelia around but I knew that she was nearby. I had just reached my car when in a flash Damon was suddenly standing before me blocking my way. In the blink of an eye, I felt him grab my upper arm firmly and suddenly he was pinning me back against my car. My heartbeat sped up a bit, anxious now but as I looked into those blue eyes of his I didn't see any craziness or ominousness in them so I could tell that he wasn't going to kill me. Instead I saw intimidation and I noticed his pupils seemed to change sizes.
"Who are you and why did you come to Mystic Falls?" He demanded as he tried to use compulsion on me.
Of course I was on vervain, a fact he didn't know just yet but one that he was fixing to find out. However in the next moment when I was looking into his eyes, I saw the pain register within them. He squeezed them shut, released me, took a staggered step back and holding one hand to his head, he fell to one knee groaning in pain.
Amelia stepped out of the dark and walked up beside me, her arm outstretched and the palm of her hand facing Damon.
Damon, still holding a hand to his head in pain, saw her and swore. "Damn another witch."
"You are used to this aren't you Damon? Does Bonnie have to do this to you often?" Amelia asked.
"Who the hell are you two?" Damon asked in between groans of pain.
"This doesn't have to be necessary Damon. Amelia is just being protective. You don't have to try to force us to tell you what you want to know. Just ask nicely." I leaned back against my car, crossing my arms and watching him.
"Alright. You made your point. Can you stop with the witchy migraines?" Damon grimaced.
Amelia dropped her hand back to her side. Damon no longer held his hand to his head. He quickly got onto his feet and kept his gaze trained on the two of us.
He gave a small wry smile as he slowly strode closer. His gaze met and held mine. "You going to explain what is going on?" He said trying to once again intimidate me, which wasn't working.
Amelia held up her hand in warning, not wanting him to come any closer. Damon shot her a glare but stopped. His gaze was unwavering as he sized the two of us up, trying to figure us out.
