"Oh you know the typical way. Witches. Stories. Prophecies." I summed up. When all four of them looked to me with a 'don't interrupt again' glare, I shrugged and issued a disarming smile. "What? That is the mini version. Can't you just settle for that?"

Jessica shot an accusing look my way. "You didn't." She pointed out. "So why should they?"

"Fine. Then continue on." I replied then waited for her to retell the same info that I'd already heard and that I was sure she had to be getting tired of repeating over and over.

"Amelia is a witch. She and her aunt, who is also a witch, use their power to try to maintain balance in nature and events. Stories of the Originals and those involved or tangled up with them, such as the Salvatore brothers," Jessica waved her hand in my direction indicating me then motioning towards Elena. "and the doppelganger, have been told to each generation of the Cramer line."

Bonnie focused her attention onto Amelia. "So you want to help kill Klaus to maintain the natural balance?"

Amelia nodded. "Yes but that isn't the only reason. There is more to it."

"Yeah, it gets worse." I added which noticeably had Elena and Bonnie growing apprehensive.

"What do you mean it gets worse?" Elena demanded to know, looking back and forth between me, Jessica and Amelia waiting for an answer.

"As always, Klaus wants to increase his power and came up with a new way to do so. It is a prophecy called the Chosen." Jessica stated, evenly meeting Elena's gaze.

"A prophecy? What kind?" Bonnie questioned.

This time Amelia was the one to reply and not Jessica. "It is actually the product of a powerful spell that Klaus made a witch concoct for him. This spell sought out a woman, the Chosen One, who would be the best match for Klaus. Once a ceremony is performed to bind them together, then the Chosen One will be another way to boost his immortality and make him even more invincible."

Surprise and shock appeared on both Elena's and Bonnie's faces.

"So is this like the sacrifice ritual all over again? Is he going to kill the Chosen One?" Elena asked, shaking her head in disbelief of what she was hearing.

"That's what I thought too. Turns out this is different." I replied. I caught and held Elena's gaze, which she held for a moment before semi awkwardly looking away. I wondered how she was feeling about our friendship, relationship, or whatever this was between me and her. I couldn't deny my attraction for her but so far for her it was all about Stefan. How much of a chance did I have with Elena? Glancing from Elena to Jessica, the thought occurred to me that maybe I should not pursue anything with Elena. Despite all that we had gone through, maybe Elena wasn't the one for me. Even though I hardly knew much about Jessica, there was an undeniable chemistry between us that I couldn't ignore.

"Different how?" Bonnie questioned, which refocused me back to the discussion at hand.

"Klaus isn't going to kill her, he is going to protect her and keep her safe. She has to be alive for him to be more powerful. Besides he won't want to kill her because the Chosen One is going to become his girlfriend, wife, match...whatever you want to call it. She is supposedly going to fall in love with him." Amelia explained.
