Damon

When Klaus had pinned her to the wall and applied pressure on her neck so she would pass out, it'd infuriated me and I'd tried to stand. The movement though caused the stake to move a bit which only resulted in inflicting more pain that forced me back to my knees.

I watched as she looked over at me and I could read what was in her eyes all too well. I was sure that they echoed my own. They were full of anxiousness at now being in the clutches of the Original and full of worry about what might happen in the not too distant future. Frustration was there too and I knew she was angry that things had happened this way and that she couldn't do anything to help either one of us. What got me the most however was her concern for me that I could plainly see in her eyes. She was wishing she could help me as much as I was wishing I could help her.

Then she was out. Her head listed to the side as she lost all consciousness and grew limp. Reaching down, Klaus swung her up into his arms. He glanced back at me, his eyes full of ominousness.

"Word of advice. If you want to continue your existence, do not interfere." Klaus threatened before turning about and walking out the door with Jessica in his arms.

As I heard his footsteps as he went down the hall, I slowly tried to reach up and grab the stake. Like before, movement was torturous but gritting my teeth I tried to grasp it. While I wrapped my fingers around it, I heard Klaus descend the stairs. Urgency and the desire to get Jessica back spurred me on to try to rip the stake out. At first it started to come out but now I was too weak and my grip slipped. Pain coursed through me and I shut my eyes against it while trying to maintain even breathing. Slumping back against the wall tired, weak and in pain, I couldn't help but listen as Klaus carried Jessica out of the house and to a car outside. In a matter of moments, the sound of car doors opening then closing sounded and the engine was brought to life.

I must have dozed off for a bit because the next thing I remember happening was hearing a panicked female voice. It took some effort to open my eyes and when I did I was met with the sight of Amelia who looked pale and stricken. For the first time I heard Amelia swear, and if I wasn't on the verge of dying I would have thought it amusing and laughed.

"He took her didn't he? Klaus took her!"

I tilted my head back against the wall. "Yes damn it! Now help me get this out so I can start working on how to get her back."

Amelia knelt down beside me and wrapped her hands around the stake. "One. Two." She was counting down.

"Just do it!" I demanded then gasped in pain when she jerked it out.

"Three." Amelia said holding the stake which dripped with my blood.

"Blood. I need blood." My pain and weakened state had me suddenly craving blood. It was the only thing that would help me heal faster.

Amelia tossed the stake to the floor and off to the side. She stood. "Where do you keep it?"

"Down in the basement." I gasped as I pressed a hand to the gaping hole in my chest. "Bring me as much as you can carry."

Amelia quickly turned about and ran out of the room. I tracked her progress through the house, heard her open the refrigerator in the basement then several moments later heard the sound of her footsteps as she returned. She walked in through the door with an arm load of blood bags and came over to me. Kneeling on the floor she let the blood bags fall to the floor within my reach.
