Jessica
As sleep gradually began to wear off in stages, I became aware of the toned male body that I was cuddled up to. My head lay against his firm chest and my hand atop his rock hard abs. His even breathing made me believe that he was still asleep so I remained motionless and lay there replaying the events that occurred last night over in my head. Upon the realization that tonight was the night of the full moon, dread settled like lead in my stomach. Doubts, fear and anxiety swirled within me as numerous thoughts crossed my mind. What was Esther's plan to kill Klaus? Would she do it before the full moon? Would this be Klaus's final day or mine?
"I know you are awake." I heard the rumbling of his voice since my head still lay against his chest.
Despite my apprehensive thoughts, automatically a smile spread across my face upon hearing his voice. I rolled over and rose onto one elbow to hover over half of him. I looked into those icy blue eyes. "I was under the impression that you were still asleep."
He gave a half grin as he quickly reversed our positions so that he hovered over me as I lay on my back looking up at him. "I was awake long before you were."
He dipped his head and kissed me several times before kissing down my neck. Reaching up I entwined my arms about his neck. Not but a couple moments later he paused, seemingly listening to something outside my human hearing ability.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Your little witch is coming to crash our party."
I glanced over at the alarm clock on the nightstand, seeing that it was nine fifteen. Looking back to him, I narrowed my eyes at him. "She's not 'my' witch. She is my best friend." I put my hands against his chest to try to push him off of me. However he didn't budge.
"Damon you got to let me up."
His blue eyes roved over me then returned to my face. "Little witch can wait."
"That 'Little witch' you are referring to will inflict pain on you if you don't let me go. She's already not thrilled with the idea of us as it is." I countered.
Slowly Damon rolled off of me and lay there on his back with his arms crossed behind his head. His gaze was fastened on me as I slid out of the bed and grabbed his shirt that lay on the floor. "Have I mentioned that I'm not a fan of witches?"
Putting the shirt on, I fastened the buttons with a grin before heading over to the door just in time to reach it when there was a knock.
Turning the handle I only swung it open a little bit and gave her a friendly smile. "Hey Mel."
Amelia immediately noticed that I stood in a white long sleeved button up shirt that was obviously too big for me. Looking at me she shook her head. "No Jess. Please tell me that you didn't."
I felt the warmth of a body behind me at the same time that the door was pried out of my hands and opened wider. Looking over to my right, I saw a half dressed Damon wearing the tux pants that he had worn to the ball last night. There was a devilish gleam in his eyes and a smirk plastered on that ridiculously handsome face.
"Oh believe me. She did."
I jabbed my elbow into his side. "I'm getting close to asking Amelia to deflate that ego of yours."
Amelia's gaze fastened on me and it was easy to see that she was thoroughly aggravated. "While a vampire can be invited into the room, I didn't spell the room for that purpose Jess. My intent was that all vampires were not supposed to be allowed in. Including that one." She pointed at Damon.
