It was about an two hours later when the three of us, Amelia, Elena and I, were sitting in a booth at the Mystic Grill grabbing some lunch. We had already been to the local dress shop in town and made our gown selections for the formal ball tonight. After trying on quite a few dresses, I had finally found one that I could not pass up on. So after waiting for Elena and Amelia to pick out their dresses, we had proceeded up to the check-out counter to pay for them. However when it was my turn to pay for mine, I was told by the sales clerk lady that my purchase was 'taken care of'. When I questioned her, not understanding what on earth she was talking about, I had been taken aback by what the sales lady had then further told me.

"I can't believe that Klaus had the sales lady compelled to charge your dress onto his bill." Amelia shook her head still a bit bewildered.

I swirled one of my fries in some ketchup before taking a bite of it and shrugged. "Guess I forgot to mention that back at his mansion he has already bought me an entire wardrobe. So I'm not too impressed. Surprised and yes a bit annoyed, but not impressed."

"Hi!" A pretty blonde young woman with a bubbly attitude sat down at the table with us and bestowed us with a friendly smile. "I'm Caroline Forbes. Elena's already told me about the two of you."

She looked over at me and patted my arm sympathetically. "By the way I can't imagine how horrible it must be to be Klaus's potential girlfriend. So if there is anything you need let me know. I'll be glad to help you out."

I'm not sure exactly why, but I found myself smiling back at her. Whether it was just to be friendly, or amused, or even happy that I had myself another anti-Klaus friend, I'm not sure. "Thanks Caroline."

"How are you doing?" Elena asked her in a soft, concerned voice. It was then that I remembered that Caroline's dad had passed away only a day or so ago and that Tyler, her boyfriend, was still gone.

"Still dealing. I know that it will take time. Even though I didn't see him much, he was still my dad." Caroline answered, for the moment her bubbly, full of life attitude dimmed. "It doesn't help that Tyler still won't answer my calls."

"I'm sure he will come back. Maybe he just needs time too." Elena suggested helpfully.

           Caroline nodded. "How is Alaric?"

"He is fine. He just needed rest." Elena sighed. "We still don't have any idea of who the killer is."

"I thought that everyone believes that it is the doctor. Meredith." Caroline said raising an eyebrow quizzically.

"It could be but we don't know for sure." I shrugged before popping my last fry into my mouth and chasing it with a drink of soda.

Elena shook her head. "No I don't think it is her. I don't want it to be her. Alaric's life can't be that tragic."

"So what has been going on with the whole unlock the coffin and kill Klaus plan?" Caroline asked after a few moments of silence between the four of us. "You have yet to catch me up on those details."

Amelia and I helped Elena fill Caroline in on what had occurred in the past twenty four hours. To say the least she was just as surprised as we had been at the news that it had been the Original momma witch who had been locked in the coffin.

"And she's just forgiven him?" Caroline exclaimed, baffled at that bit of info.

"So she says but we've had a hard time believing that too and think that she might have something else on her agenda for Klaus." I told her, truly hoping that our suspicious were correct. After all if we were wrong, that only left me with one option. To run.
