Jessica

I stopped my pacing and glanced over at the clock on the nightstand before resuming my pacing once more. I couldn't sit still. After Klaus had left my room I had managed to read only a couple pages before giving up because I hadn't been able to focus on what I was reading. My mind had kept drifting off to what might be occurring downstairs. How was it going? Considering that I hadn't heard any sounds of a fight I was trying to be optimistic and believe that everything was alright.

When there was a knock on my door, I jumped slightly startled before quickly crossing the room and swinging the door open. One of the women that I had seen earlier stood there.

"Klaus has requested your presence. He wants you to come downstairs." The woman told me.

Wasting no time due to my worry over what was happening and my excitement to get to see Damon, I shut my door and followed her downstairs. She led me into the parlor and moved over to stand alongside the wall where apparently she would stay till she received her next order. I wasn't concerned with her though, for my rapid scan of the room caused me distress for several reasons. First off, Damon wasn't here nor was Elijah and I wondered where they had gone. Second, though Klaus and Stefan were present, there was drops of blood on Klaus's mouth and one of the women was lying on the floor. I wasn't entirely sure if she was alive or not which bothered me.

When I had entered the room, both Stefan and Klaus had looked up at me. Stefan nodded his head at me in a friendly acknowledging gesture. "Jessica. Nice to see you again." He greeted me.

Despite his mostly stern expression and the current tenseness in the atmosphere, I managed to offer him a weak smile. "You too, Stefan."

Klaus, per usual, turned that broad grin on me. "Ah, Jessica. I'm glad you could join us."

Before I even could reply, I heard footsteps and looked across the room to the other open doorway to see Damon and Elijah walk in. Instantly Damon's and my gaze met and held. Though I could see and sense that he was tense and bothered, I could also see plain as day his happiness and relief to see me again.

              "Jessica."

"Damon." This time I had no trouble smiling. For a moment I forgot about the woman on the floor or the tense situation we all were in. I was just happy and relieved to see him. Seeing him helped me draw in comfort and hope that this all was going to work out.

"Come sweetheart. Would you like a seat?" Klaus beckoned me forward.

I moved further into the room, stopping to stand next to the table but I shook my head declining the offer to sit.

"You've come just in time love, to be witness to the conclusion of the making of the deal." Klaus informed me.

"What do you say Klaus?" Damon asked as he came further into the room and stopped next to Stefan. "Time for you to put something on the table. We made our offer. Now you counter."

Klaus came towards me and sat down in the seat that I was standing next too. Elijah crossed the room to stand just behind Klaus, letting his hand rest on the back of the chair.

"Ok." Klaus used a linen napkin to wipe the remaining blood off of his mouth. Looking back up and over at Damon and Stefan, he cleared his throat. "I offer Jessica's and Elena's future happiness. Elena needs to be rid of all of you and fall in love with a human." He looked up at Elijah. "Maybe that nice blonde football player."
