Day 10

"You mean you still haven't broken up with him?!"

Liv frowned. "It isn't easy! Let me go at my own pace."

Maddi shrugged. "As you wish."

"Also, whatever happened to you and Rene'?"

Maddi shrugged again. "Didn't really like each other as much as we thought."

"Oh."

Poppie and Kaylen stepped passed Carson to get to the pantry.

"Gummies!" Kaylen exclaimed.

They both got a small bag of gummi bears and then sat at the counter.

"Gummi bears for breakfast?"

Kaylen looked up to see Elula looking at them in utter disgust.

"Go hang out with your husband," Poppie rolled her eyes.

"Gladly." Elula walked away.

"What's up with her trying to talk to us?" Kaylen asked.

Poppie didn't answer. Kaylen peered at her cousin and saw she was looking at someone. Rene'.

"You like her?"

Poppie looked startled. "What?"

"Obviously you like Rene'," Kaylen stated.

"She kissed me."

"What?! When?"

Poppie glanced at Rene' then turned back to Kaylen. "Yesterday."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

Poppie shrugged. "I am now."

"So, why aren't you guys dating?"

Poppie opened her mouth to speak but Rene' showed up.

"Hey, Poppie! A-and Kaylen."

Poppie gave a small wave while Kaylen smiled and nodded.

Rene' looked a bit anxious. "Mute?"

Kaylen giggled. "I just had gummi bears in my mouth."

"Oh, haha!"

Rene' suddenly seemed to notice Carson. "Oh, hello, Carson."

Carson looked up from his phone, slightly surprised. "Rene'."

Rene' turned back to Poppie and smiled. "May I sit?"

"Of course."

Rene' scooted the stool next to Poppie even closer and slid into the seat.

Kaylen saw that Carson hadn't gone back to looking at his phone and he looked mildly uncomfortable.

"How are you?" Rene' asked.

"Fine." Poppie's face was quite red.

Carson made loud clattering noises as he got a bowl of cereal. Once he left, Rene' leaned back.

"Well, it's good you're fine, I guess. See you around." She then hopped up and walked away.

Poppie scowled.

"You don't like her?" Kaylen peered at her curiously.

"She's using me." Poppie stepped off her stool and stormed off.

Brandon chewed the draw string of his sweatshirt. This was probably the hardest thing he was going to do in his entire life. Brandon thought about the first time he decided to try a backflip and changed his mind.
