Omie opened his eyes to see he was about an inch away from the corner of his bedside table.

Omie jumped away, which led to a headrush. He ignored it and got dressed. He checked his watch and saw that it was almost noon. How come he slept so long? Oh well.

Omie left his room and headed down the stairs to the 1st floor. It seemed most everybody was awake.

"Hey, Omie."

Omie whipped around to face Poppie. "Hi, there."

"Did you just wake up?" She asked.

"Erm, pretty much. I'm not sure why I slept so late."

Poppie shrugged. "No reason not to."

Omie looked at her like 'uh, really?'. "Hm, I don't know about that."

Poppie looked somewhat uncomfortable. "Okay then." She rather quickly walked away.

Did she detest being told she was wrong or something? How weird.

Omie ate a sandwich then stood wondering what to do.

Kimberly walked up to him. "Hey, does this look edible to you?" She held up a candy cane.

"I suppose so...? Why?"

Kimberly snorted. "This has been sitting in my purse for ages. I don't even know how long."

"So why are you asking if it looks edible?"

Kimberly shook her head. "It was a dare. I have to ask everybody since I missed a shot."

"Who gave you the dare?"

"Logan."

Omie scoffed. "Seems like she could figure out so many better things."

"Yeah, that's what I said, anyway bye." Kimberly turned and walked towards Poppie.

"Hey."

Omie was quite startled by Rylen's voice behind him. He spun around to face him.

"What were you doing talking to my girl?" Rylen asked.

Omie laughed.

"Well? Aren't you going to answer me?"

"I guess I was talking to your girl. You answered your own question."

Rylen took a step closer. "Are you trying to annoy me?"

Omie just held eye contact with him.

"Speak up." Rylen glared.

"What happens if I don't?"

Omie saw Rylen's fist raised right before it made contact with his face. Yes, it hurt, but it didn't seem like Rylen was giving it his all. Not yet anyway.

Omie stepped away, clutching his jaw. "That was rude."

"Oh, so your vocal cords DO work?"

Omie went back to facing Rylen. "Of course."

"So, go ahead, tell me why you were talking to Kimberly." There was no way Rylen was actually that mad. He was looking for a fight.

When Omie continued to not say anything, Rylen went to shove him again. But this time Omie was ready. He caught Rylen's hands right before they touched his shoulders. Rylen looked surprised for a split second before simply shoving Omie again, this time with a lot more force.

Omie fell backward; his tailbone colliding with the counter. It was extremely painful, and Rylen wasn't just going to get away with it.

Omie inhaled sharply and punched Rylen in the eye. Why did everything hurt?! Omie shook his wrist, trying to ignore the pain.
