"The end is approaching!" Kirk exclaimed.
"Very sad. Especially since I won't see you guys in May." Carson said.
"Wait, why?" Brendon looked confused.
"I'm going to my grandparents' for a month. Not only do I have to hang out with old sickly people, but I also have to homeschool."
"Oh. Sad."
"Hey," Kirk had a tone of optimism. "At least we'll see each other in the summer."
Brendon nodded. "Yeah, it won't be that bad."
"But seriously," Carson said. "It's all ending. After this summer we'll all be going to college."
"And not together." Kirk frowned.
"Eh, we'll keep in touch." Brendon waved his hand dismissively. "You're looking too much in the future anyway. Plus, we can drive."
Carson nodded. "Yeah, we have cars."
"Brendon will have multiple cars next time we see him." Kirk scoffed.
Maddi walked down the hall, towards the stairs. She didn't often sleep so late, but it felt nice. Suddenly she saw Rene' and Poppie talking at the stairs. No! Why would they do that?! Rene' started to look in her direction so Maddi flew towards the first door she could find. She tried to open it, but the door was locked. It was the end of the world. Maddi didn't dare look at Rene' and Poppie. They were watching. She just knew it. They also probably saw her try to get into a locked room. Maddi suddenly realized the room was a bathroom. No. Bad just went to worse. Somebody was inside that bathroom that she just tried to barge into!
Maddi turned and ran back down the hall. She just had to get away. The only place she could think to go was back to her room. So, to her room she went.
Charlie sat at the kitchen table with a smoothie in hand.
Logan suddenly appeared in front of her. "Where did you get that?"
"A smoothie place."
"Where?!"
Charlie thought for a moment. "I can't remember what it was called."
"Ugh! Charlie! What use you are." Logan sighed in frustration. Charlie giggled to herself as her sister trudged away.
Kimberly sat next to her and snatched the smoothie out of her hand. After taking a sip Kimberly gave Charlie her smoothie back. "That's awful."
"Ew, Kimberly?" Charlie looked at her smoothie in disgust. "We're not related! That's disgusting!"
"Too bad I didn't even like it." Kimberly gave an evil giggle.
Charlie glared at her, and she smirked back.
"Hey, Charlie!"
Charlie looked up to see her boyfriend. "Oh, Darik, good to see an actually good-looking face."
"Hey!" Kimberly looked offended.
Darik chuckled as he sat down. "What did she do wrong?"
"Tainted my smoothie." Charlie pushed her smoothie away from herself.
"Well, it was three dollars and twenty-seven cents." Darik held his hand out to Kimberly.
Kimberly scoffed. "That's ridiculous, I took one sip."
"Fine then, just twenty-seven cents."
Kimberly rolled her eyes. "Gee, I didn't know you'd get so upset. I just took one sip. I brushed my teeth this morning." She then stood up and walked away.
"Thanks," Charlie said. "You couldn't get her to pay but at least you made her leave."
Darik nodded.
"So, you have a crush on Brendon?"
Omie looked up to see Logan. "Oh, hello."
Logan crossed her arms. "Answer me."
Omie shook his head. "I suppose you have feelings for him again."
"Why would you assume that?"
"Maybe cause you asked him out? Is that too dumb of an assumption?"
"Oh, well we're probably going to get back together soon."
"Yeah." Omie leaned back in his chair and propped his feet up on the table. "Totally."
"Don't get in the way," Logan said. She almost sounded like she was threatening him.
"What are you going to do? Beat me up?"
"I just might. Brendon and I know each other well and such, we've had our ups and downs, but in the end, we're made for each other."
Omie laughed.
"Of course you don't understand."
"Oh, I understand what you're saying."
Logan looked irritated. "Then why laugh?"
"Because you sound dumb."
Both heard Brendon laugh and turned to see him standing behind them.
Logan looked as if somebody spilled red paint on her face. "How long have you been there?"
"Long enough," Brendon smirked slightly.
"Well, good thing I wasn't saying anything that's true." Logan turned and walked away.
"How much did you actually hear?" Omie asked.
"Logan saying 'you don't understand' or something."
"Ah." Omie took his feet off the table.
"What was that about?" Brendon asked.
"You, of course."
Brendon looked slightly surprised as he sat next to him. "What about me?"
"I guess Logan was pretending to be desperate. So charming."
"How does that even work?"
"She was just explaining to me how you and she have a lot of past and you're made for each other."
Brendon made a gagging noise. "She has resorted to cringey Logan."
"Yeah, I noticed."
"Why was she talking to you about that?"
Omie tried to figure out how to answer that. "Oh, well first she asked if I had a crush on you then she started ranting."
Brendon looked like he wanted to ask something, but he didn't.
Omie took a quarter put of his pocket and tossed to Brendon. "That's yours."
Brendon caught it. "Where'd you get it?"
"The floor."
"How is it mine?"
"You dropped it."
Brendon looked at the quarter for a second. "How long were you keeping my money? Were you going to use it? This quarter is everything to my family."
Omie chuckled. "I'm sure you missed it."
Brendon put the money in his pocket.
"Hot rich boy," Omie mumbled as he stood up and walked away.
