Lexi opened her eyes to see light streaming through her window. How annoying. She wanted to sleep. The curtains on her window were so thin.

Lexi turned over and attempted to fall back asleep. She was unsuccessful.

Lexi sat up and glared at the door to her room. Maybe she could take the mattress off her bed and cover the window then sleep...Lexi almost laughed at her own thought. She must be extremely tired to be thinking such things.

Lexi got out of bed and checked the clock on her bedside table. It was only 9 AM.

Lexi sighed and got ready for the day. Slowly, she remembered how annoying her life was at the time. Alex was a terrible girlfriend. Yes, they were keeping it casual, but did she have to talk to every person she could possibly date? It was infuriating. It almost felt like she was doing it on purpose. Like she was trying to make Lexi jealous. What a jerk. What Lexi hated most was that she liked her. She liked Alex and she couldn't even lie to herself that she didn't. She liked Alex when she was acting normal anyway...more recently Alex seemed so desperate. Flirting with everyone. Not at all self-aware.

Lexi stopped brushing her hair when she realized she was being too rough. She looked presentable anyway.

Lexi left her room in search of Alex. She really didn't want to have the conversation she was about to, but she wanted her life to change. Why did she have to be caught up in all this drama?

Lexi found Alex at their window seat, which almost made her want to forget all her complaints. Alex was loyal enough...right? No.

"Alex, we need to talk." Lexi sat next to her.

Alex made a 'you have my full attention' face.

"Why do you flirt with everyone you can?"

Alex looked taken aback. "What-? I don't."

"You talk to people you don't even like. What's up with that?"

"Aren't we supposed to be keeping this casual? Are you allowed to ask these questions?"

"I can ask whatever the heck I want. It's your decision if you're going to answer them."

Alex looked at the ground. "Are you jealous?"

"Yes."

Alex snorted. "I guess you'll just have to commit then."

Lexi laughed. "Ridiculous."

"What?"

"No one could get commitment or loyalty from you in a million years."

"You take that back!" Alex went from confused to angry in no time. "I commit when I want to!"

"Which is never. You've cheated so many times. It's so odd too, since you know what it's like to be cheated on."

"I do, it's not that terrible."

"Oh, really? Just because you were dating a twelve-year-old. Well, we're not twelve. We're adults."

"What's the difference?"

"Good grief, Alex, last time I checked you were so much smarter than this."

Alex stood up, obviously very upset. "Did you come over here just to be a jerk?! So what if I talk to other people! You decided we're going to keep it casual so here we are. Then here you come complaining about your own life choices and blaming them on me! It's not my fault you're scared of commitment! And it's none of your business that I am too! I'm very aware that I'm an adult, which is why I act the way I do. Apparently never loyal and ridiculously dumb."
