The endearing and sorrowful theme of Genshin Impact poured into the ornately decorated room. Adley shot a dirty look to Alyssa, despite having his monitor also directed toward the game. Immanuel, startled, revolved from the shuddering water machine, the paper cup in his clenched hand beginning to overflow with lukewarm water, spilling onto the tiled floor.
Rei sighed, exasperated. "Can you pause the game for one damn second? Some of us are trying to do work here, you know. We've got work from the Deverlon division as well, in case you haven't realised."
"Sorry, not sorry," Alyssa muttered unapologetically, face flushed with excitement, but Rei seemed to mistake it for embarrassment as she then turned back to her binder. Alyssa covertly muted the computer, and continued her ascension quest, thrilled at her progress.
Immanuel had already turned and was cowering at his typical plastic table with measly frosted plastic borders between them, when Emma Leow looked up and pondered Duoduo's concurrent location aloud. Everybody shrugged half heartedly and continued on with their respective work.
Just then, Clarice brightened and commented, "Duoduo's not in Deverlon's division, right?"
Nobody really knew, so there was a frivolous moment of awkward silence where emptiness stretched, tense, but Clarice somehow took this as agreement and continued without hesitation, "Then why don't we wage war on Deverlon's division?"Everybody cheered. No one bothered to question what they were going to do if Duoduo was in fact in Deverlon's division.
It made headlines among the company's workers, and Yifan was the first to read it.
