Heather grunted as her drooping eyelids refused to open, but after some struggle, she managed it.
She was leaning against the cracked stone foundation of a Statue of the Seven near Sumeru. She rested her elbow against a mossy alcove and propped herself onto her feet.;
The bright sun shone into her eyes, and she squinted across the horizon, spirits rising steadily. Her hopes burst out of her, all her dreams coming true; she was in the Genshin Impact world.
She beamed, her eyes twinkling, a horde of light surging across the azure sky. She drew a long sword, tough with a slender frame, smithed out of millions and millions of carats of iron, encountered only in the rarest of chests. She pointed it harshly over the hills, settling the blade across the sights of the cities beyond, and cried something indiscernible, before eagerly descending the hill toward more adventures beyond.
She died, yes, but at least she was here now. She was even happier than before.
Before.
What had happened before?
Heather didn't like to think about this anymore.
She was somewhere else now.
Somewhere where she didn't have to think about the incident that everyone shamed her for.
