Chapter 2- I don't date douches!
I chewed my pop tart, not even listening to Jas. She was staring right at me, waiting for an answer.
“ashryfmg?” I grumbled through my mouth, unaware my mouth was full. Jas laughed, repeating herself.
“You ready for the plan” She rolled her eyes, ready for laughing. I put my thumbs up.
As I approached my locker, I could see the halls of what you’d call high school. I saw the jocks and the cheerleaders flirting, and the nerds exchanging homework tips and the art freaks; like me sticking their heads in their locker. I saw Jas and she was grinning at me but then she stared at me, telepathically telling me he was behind me, but I didn’t budge, I continued to grab my books from the locker but as I backed out, I smashed my head on the locker door. I grabbed my head, smooth move Lauren! I told myself.
“Hey, baby you okay?” I heard the familiar voice of the jocks; I rolled my eyes, walking forwards. As usual I wasn’t looking where I was going, I banged straight into a hard surface, I looked up and my eyes connected with his. Ashley’s.
“You’re in my way!” I stated, bluntly. He took a step back shocked; I quickly took my exit, knowing my face was rising red. But he caught my arm.
“I’m sorry; you’re Jasmines sister aren’t you?” His eyes searched mine for clues; for who I am. But I stared back sternly, not letting his puppy eyes get to me.
“Yeah, who are you?” I eyed him up and down, he looked genuinely shocked. It was quite funny. I could hear the sniggering of the jocks.
“I’m Ashley Jackson?” He said it in a ‘duh’ voice.
“I don’t care?” I hinted boredom in my voice; it was hard keeping a straight face.
“Oh, I’m sure we’ve met?” A worried streak creased Ashley’s lovely forehead.
“Nope, we’ve never met” I tried to pull away but Ashley still had my wrist hard.
“Why?” He looked round; we now had a circle surrounding us, most people laughing. It was embarrassing; for him; the most popular jock anyway.
“Because I don’t interact with douches” I nodded my head, jerking my wrist away, everyone burst out laughing, and I even saw a little colour in Ashley’s face. As I walked away, I felt triumphant.
“Is Jackson losing his charm?” I heard a jock shout and they all burst back out into laughter. A smirk spread across my lips, I looked back as Ashley was storming off, my smirk quickly slipped away. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so rude, he was only trying to help after all I had banged my head.
I sat down, quickly ready as the class filed in.I looked up ad the cheerleaders were staring at me; smirking. I gulped; great I hate these guys. Apart from Jas of course.
“Jas has told us” The ring leader Marley said; she still had a grin plastered on her face; she’s so fake. I looked at Jas and she was smiling as well; smiling deviosly.
“What has she told you?” I turned my head back to my book, reading once more.
“About your plan!” Marley said in that ‘duh’ tone, is it just something ‘populars’ do? I put away my book and my eyes widened.
“We’re here to help you, almost every girl in this squad has had their heart broken, but not anymore, Lauren, you’re our revenge” Marley stood up grinning, all the squad laughed, making me wary. One cheerleader got out a video camera, pointing it at me.
“Repeat after me…I could never love you Ashley…you’re too much of a…” Marley stopped, thinking.
“What’s the word you used earlier; it’ll sound more genuine” Marley sniggered.
