Chapter 3- Not the typical cheerleader...
Marley was twigging what we were talking about so she decided to help me out.
“Hey, Lauren did I tell you at lunch we have the cheerleading try-outs!” Ashley looked up but I gave Marley a horrified glance, I didn’t want to become a ‘cheerleader’. She smiled, giving me a glare.
“I don’t know might try-out” I winked at Ashley, his mouth hung wide open.
“What do you think, Ashley? Is Lauren good enough?” We looked at Ashley innocently, holding in our laughter.
“Just remember what I said about the outfit” He whispered into my ear winking. The bell rang, so I went to go but quickly whispered my reply.
“You’re right, I would look dang fine in a Cheerleaders uniform” I winked at Ashley, walking out the class triumphantly, I looked round. Ashley still hadn’t moved, his mouth still hung open, some of the jocks were shouting for him to come, but he ignored them. Not breaking contact with me, I blew him a kiss and walked out the classroom. I stared at myself in the restroom mirror.
“Oh my, I saw how you blew off Ashley this morning!” One girl said entering the restroom, I smiled. Is this what it’s like to be popular?
“It was so cool” Her friend stared at me, I grinned. It was pretty cool, I admit.
I needed to let out my new found confidence; I stared at my most favourite place in the world. The art department.
“Lauren, do you want to start new?” My art teacher smiled at me, she was used to me being here, I come every break. I nodded, I began to doodle, not really know what I was doing.
“There you are!” Ashley sounded out of breath, I looked around but I was the only one in the classroom. The art department was on the other side of school.
“Are you stalking me?” I raised an eyebrow. He grinned, the adorable grin.
“I came to hand you back your pen” He brought his pen out of his pocket, handing it to me. I put it in my bag, studying him closely.
“You came to the other side of school just to hand me back my pen?” I eyed him suspiciously, he looked away, nodding.
I rolled my eyes, and carried on drawing, I wasn’t sure what I was drawing. I just let my mind take control. Ashley stood behind me he put his hands either side of me on the desk, staring at my art work. He was dangerously close, I felt like I couldn’t breathe.
“That drawing looks like me” Ashley stated, picking up the piece of paper, I went to grab it away from him, but I’m tiny so I couldn’t get it. He held it above his head, not allowing me to get near it; I was even jumping for freaks sake.
“No it doesn’t!” I protested!
“Yes it does” He held it next to him, they were identical, I got his complexion brilliantly, it was pretty detailed picture. But like I said I let my mind take control? Does that mean Ashley had taken over my mind?
“Hmm…a little” I admitted; defeated.
“Now who’s the stalker?” He winked at me. I blushed; I do not like the impact this kid has on me.
“I wouldn’t stalk you!” I defended, putting my art away.
“And why’s that?” He laughed.
“You’re too boring!” I stuck my tongue out at him, he hesitated.
“You wouldn’t be able to control yourself!” He scoffed; I sent him a death glare, which he just laughed off.
“Let’s just go” I wanted to get rid of this conversation, before I said something, I’ll regret…
